When you choose to donate to or shop at SPCA Op Shops, you are not only shopping sustainably by buying secondhand, but you are also contributing to a great cause. Every dollar you spend here goes towards helping animals in need. With over 70 op shops spread throughout New Zealand, we offer a wide range of donated items for sale.
Our selection includes clothing for women, men, and kids, as well as jewelry, homeware, kitchenware, linen, toys, furniture, and items for your beloved pets. There is always something new to discover, making each visit an exciting opportunity to find hidden treasures.
If you prefer the convenience of online shopping, we also have the official SPCA Online Op Shop. Browse through our virtual store and have pre-loved items delivered straight to your doorstep.
By shopping with us, you are not only contributing to the well-being of animals but also helping our planet. By reducing the amount of goods that end up in landfill, you are making a positive impact on the environment. You never know what amazing finds await you while you shop, so feel good about your purchases!
In addition to shopping, you can also support us by donating items that we can resell. We greatly appreciate all donations in good, sellable condition. Please ensure that your pre-loved items are not broken, damaged, stained, or torn. You can donate by visiting your local store during opening hours or, if you have furniture to donate, our trucks can collect it for free in Auckland or Christchurch.
We also offer volunteering opportunities for those who want to lend a helping hand. From sorting incoming donations, pricing and sorting items, merchandising displays, and working at the till, to becoming a reliable volunteer driver for pick-ups and drop-offs, there are various roles available. If you have some spare time each week and are over the age of 15, we would love to hear from you. Join us in making a difference for a good cause!
Visit SPCA Op Shop Henderson today and be part of our mission to help animals in need while enjoying a unique shopping experience.

"Used to love browsing in here. Not anymore. Not much to look at, books practically non existent, and prices have gone way up. Feel sorry that the animals are the ones missing out in the end"
"Pretty expensive for an op shop. Noticed quite a few items from Kmart that are cheaper to buy brand new than second hand!"
"Tried calling a few times today, no answer. Wanted to donate stuff and confirm they close at 4:30. Still comes up as Diagnostic Medlab."
"Free donated items selling for a huge profit. Items are overpriced. Sometimes more then the cost of a new item. Boots (dress boots) chemically processed leather selling for $40. Bulk of the clothing is old and outdated with hefty price tag. While this is going to a good cause, not an excuse to rip your customers off. Pay $45 for a painting that someone did at home paint by numbers. Good cause, overpriced."
"This op shop raises money and it’s funded by the kindhearted generous people that donate (GIVE FREE) Pre-loved & used items. 100% of the profits go back to the store. Now don’t get me wrong, I think that’s great. However what I do not think is great, is the way they overcharge for the items they get for nothing! A lot of people, myself included, Live paycheck to paycheck, a lot of us have children and live on the poverty line. I go to op shop’s because of that reason & because I don’t want my kids missing out. Do these prices seem reasonable..? $15 for a Nighty!! No thanks $20 woman’s heels! Nope…Rip off! $8 for kids plain black pants! No way! And $8 for An open bag of tea light candles. Hell No!! The original pricetag when the candles were first purchased new was still on the packaging, it said “$5 & the bag was from The Warehouse!! Can you believe that!? $3 more for an open and used packet, when they can be purchased new for only $5! It’s verging on greedy & that’s very disappointing. & furthermore, if I had money like that, I’d just go to Kmart & buy it new! When I kindly mentioned it to the lady behind the counter she said “if I wasn’t happy, I should shop somewhere else!” I said “I’m just giving you feedback! We’re in West Auckland & like me, there are a lot of families that are struggling to make ends meat!” She actually SNIGGERED at me and shrugged her shoulders!! I couldn’t believe it!! I feel they have lost touch with what they are & should take a look at what they are doing!!! For now, I’ll stick to shopping at the Salvation Army, the staff are awesome & the prices are fair unlike this place!"
