"Absolutely disgusting service and treatment. I was charged $658 for a flat tyre repair (screw in tyre) no spare tyre in car. I was in Werribee with flat tyre and live in Ballarat. I was told by Avis to follow instructions by BMW assist, they said car had to be towed to Southbank BMW. Car was taken. My card was then charged without any permission or even a discussion regarding what I was being charged for. I had NO other choice and it cost me $658 for a flat tyre repair. Normally costs $50. I have had no correspondence from anyone at AVIS. Absolutely atrocious service and treatment. Please beware that there is no customer support and you can be completely taken advantage of. I would never hire a car from AVIS ever ever again."

"Quick,easy, reliable service. Helpful staff. Reasonably priced. Only thing we found was the car interior was in need of a proper detail with spilled food in centre console And our vehicle clearly needed a front end alignment as the steering was constantly pulling to one side. Overall hiring process quite easy."

"I called in to Avis to hire a vehicle with electric brakes.And Haymen Reece tow set up .was greeted by Emma who was very aware of my requirements .Due the fact I just sold my Jeep that was fitted with electric brakes and Haymen Reece towbar .I needed to hire a vehicle today As the next day is Xmas day . I have buyers coming from Melbourne and yes the fact they could not find time from work until just after Xmas . meant today was my only chance to pick up the caravan camper from storage . "This place wasn’t even worth 1 star. After my parked car was hit, the insurance company of the driver (who hit my car) wanted to organise a hire car while my car was being fixed. That’s when everything turned bad. The whole experience from start to finish with Avis Ballarat was awful. I was asked to provide my credit card at pick up, I said that I was the third party and shouldn’t have to provide anything but was told that nothing would be charged to my card unless there was damage or a speeding fine. Fair enough, I was ok with that, plus their Code of Conduct states that they will call before doing any withdrawal from your account. The insurance company arranged the hire for 14 days. I returned the car after 7 days because my car was ready. Full tank, no damage, no speeding fine. But 7 days later Avis Ballarat withdrew $121.89 from my account. No warning, no phone call …. NOTHING. I went there and spoke to Chelsea - who informed me “the system does it automatically” and she couldn’t give me the exact reason other than “the insurance company arranged a $37 a day car and we gave you a $47 a day car” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, and with no help or any interest to reimburse me for ‘the systems’ error, I left. My husband then called and spoke to Kim, he asked her at 4:55pm if she could look at the rental agreement and confirm the $37/$47 error, her response “ I’m overworked and underpaid and it’s time for me to knock off” and hung up the phone. I checked Avis Ballarat’s hours on Google which stated they were open till 5:30pm. I did get a refund and an apology not from Avis Ballarat, the AVIS Head Office refunded me and were absolutely appalled to hear the terrible service of their Ballarat store."
