Welcome to Dance Scottish Wellington, the heart of the Scottish Country Dancing community in Wellington, New Zealand. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just starting out, our weekly meetups are the perfect opportunity to learn new dances, revise old ones, improve your technique, and catch up with dancing friends.

At Dance Scottish Wellington, we offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels. Some of our clubs even have junior groups for children and teens, ensuring that the love for Scottish Country Dancing is passed down to the next generation.

To cover the cost of hall hire, we have a small door charge of around $5 for our weekly meetups. However, we understand that trying something new can be daunting, which is why some clubs offer your first visit free of charge. This gives you the chance to experience the joy of Scottish Country Dancing without any financial commitment.

Our clubs typically meet weekly between March and early November, with most clubs commencing in the first week of March unless otherwise specified. However, we recommend checking with the specific club for any changes or updates.

We have a variety of locations throughout Wellington where our meetups take place. On Thursdays at 7:30pm, you can find us at Newtown School Hall on Mein Street in Newtown. On Wednesdays at 7:45pm, we gather at Muritai School Hall on Muritai Road in Eastbourne. Khandallah Town Hall on 11 Ganges Road in Khandallah is our Monday night venue at 7:30pm, and Tawa Baptist Church Hall on Main Road in Tawa is another Monday night option at the same time.

For those in the Khandallah area, we also have a Thursday meetup at 7:30pm at Khandallah Presbyterian Church Hall on 33 Ganges Road. If you're in Seatoun, join us on Fridays at 7:30pm at Seatoun Village Hall on Forres Street. Upper Hutt residents can dance with us on Wednesdays at 7:30pm at Wesley Centre, located at the corner of Fergusson Drive and Benzie Avenue. And finally, those in Waikanae can join us on Fridays at 7:30pm at Kakapanui School on 25 Rimu Street.
