"Another place to buy New Zealand souvenirs around Lambton Quay area. It mainly sells cards, magazines, snacks, drinks and items you usually find in mini market, but they also sell many New Zealand souvenirs that might be looked for bu tourists. The store is a bit packed with rows of items but everything is there so you can see the items you need. I got New Zealand postcards (I guess they sell stamps too), fridge magnets, t-shirts, mugs, and cap. They have sales for t-shirts if you buy more than 1. I also saw many other souvenir items like key chains, shocks, tumblers, glasses, aprons, tote bags and more. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. It might be a bit tricky for those with wheelchairs as the place is packed with items."
"City card and mags. Nice shop and magazines and cards"
"I bought something cheap but when I paid bill it was completely different from the label on the shelf, way much expensive. The most interesting thing is the owner pretended he did not know. So faked"
"Love this place for greeting cards!"
"Rip-off merchants. I will never buy another mag here again. Last copy of Monocle, an expensive UK magazine, was badly dog-eared on the cover top and bottom, yet they refused to take anything off the huge price tag, despite the fact it was 2 days before Christmas, so the unhelpful offer to "send it back to the supplier" was nothing short of sarcastic.. Bad retail practice. If you can't sell a clean copy, have the decency to offer a small discount to acknowledge the damage. It's not about the money, it's the mean-spiritedness that prompts me to post this review. Their response: "We've been here for years and years and never given a discount for damaged goods." So it's their business policy then. One bad experience I can forgive, but today they admitted to ripping Wellingtonians off for years. Shame on you City Cards & Mags!"
