Our journey began in the old auctioneers warehouse on Copeland Street in Wanganui. It was here that Save Mart's first outlet was established, marking the beginning of a remarkable story. In 1995, we took a bold step and saved the Wanganui Woollen Mills from demolition, creating our second-largest store. Today, this store, located at Kelvin Street, is a thriving hub that provides employment opportunities to 11 dedicated staff members.
Save Mart holds a special significance for many of our customers, as they fondly remember their mothers and grandmothers taking them to the old Copeland Street location. It is a place filled with nostalgia and memories, where generations have come together to find unique and affordable clothing options.

"Rude staff and volunteers with the worst communication skills. Inadequate lighting. Sometimes EFTPOS is the only acceptable form of payment required. SaveMart is quite dusty, so you may want to wear a mask? SaveMart probably has the biggest collection of clothing in Porirua? And the prices for items range. The cheapest item I've bought is $6.99 and the dearest is $24.99. I don't recommend SaveMart to people who shop on a (low) budget. You're better off shopping at Salvation Army Family Stores or the Mary Potter Hospice stores or St Vinny's (St. Vincent de Paul)."
