Our institution offers a wide range of programs and services to cater to individuals of all ages and abilities. Our Learn to Swim programme is specifically designed for water babies through to adults, ensuring that everyone can develop their swimming skills in a safe and supportive environment.

For young people, our Schools Programme is committed to helping them reach their full potential. We offer a range of activities including Water Safety, EOTC Activity Days, Learn to Swim, and Water Wise programs. Our passionate instructors are dedicated to instilling confidence and a love for swimming in the younger generation.

The Sir Owen G. Glenn National Aquatic Centre is not only a place for learning and recreation but also the home of aquatic sport in New Zealand. This state-of-the-art facility was built to meet the growing demand for flat-water and to serve as a world-class competition venue. It is open to the public for swimming, as well as hosting events, Swim School programs, and serving as a training center for high-performance athletes.

Please note that our facility is primarily a lap swimming pool and not a play pool. However, everyone is welcome to enjoy our facilities, and we offer great savings with concession cards and lump sum memberships.

While we strive to provide a seamless experience, please be aware that swimming in the National Aquatic Centre is subject to availability. There may be occasions when the facility is closed or has limited public hours due to competitions and events. For more information, please refer to our events section below.

Occasionally, the National Aquatic Centre may be closed or partially closed to accommodate significant events such as national swimming, surf lifesaving, and water polo championships. Rest assured that we make every effort to minimize disruption during these events.

In addition to our regular programs, the National Aquatic Centre is also available for event bookings. From school swim sports to national and international competitions, our venue can accommodate a wide range of events.

As part of the AUT Millennium complex, the Sir Owen G. Glenn National Aquatic Centre is a world-class facility boasting two Olympic-sized swimming pools and two learn to swim pools. Whether you are just starting your swimming journey or looking to maintain fitness, our Swim School classes cater to all ages and abilities.

Our Swim School is staffed by 50 qualified and passionate swim teachers who are dedicated to helping people learn to swim. They undergo regular training and are truly immersed in the world of swimming.
