The Psychology Room

Welcome to The Psychology Room, a Clinical Psychology Practice located in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Our practice is run by Lucy Reynolds, a qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of experience in Infant, Child, Adolescent, and Family Mental Health.

Conveniently situated in central Lower Hutt, our location allows for easy travel from Upper and Lower Hutt, as well as Wellington City. Whether you're seeking help for yourself, your child, or your family, The Psychology Room offers a compassionate and safe space for individuals and families to explore their worries and difficulties.

Lucy Reynolds is endorsed in Speech & Language Therapy by the University of Canterbury and is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP). With a background in teaching and speech and language therapy, Lucy brings a unique perspective to her clinical practice.

At The Psychology Room, we offer evidence-based assessments and interventions, including ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Our therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Attachment-Based Therapy.

Lucy's areas of practice and special interest include parenting, family relationships, anxiety, low mood, behavior difficulties in children and young people, as well as stress, life transitions, anxiety, and depression in adults. She also provides supervision for clinicians.

Working collaboratively with GPs, schools, and other professionals is an important aspect of our practice. We believe that a multidisciplinary approach can enhance the effectiveness of our work together.

Please enquire about our fees, as assessments requiring additional services such as school observations, test interpretation, report writing, and formal letters are charged at an hourly rate based on time spent.

We kindly request that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Missed sessions or those cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full fee, unless otherwise agreed upon.
