Founded by Alan Jones in 1993, Jones Accounting identified the need for solutions-driven accounting and taxation services for small to medium enterprises. Over the past 25 years, our practice has grown significantly, serving diverse clients from Keri Keri in the North to Dunedin in the South. With cloud-based accounting, we can maintain close working relationships with clients, no matter where their business takes them. We support Xero (Gold Status), MYOB/Banklink, and iPayroll as partners. Furthermore, we are a CAANZ Approved Training Organization (ATO).

While our local roots run deep in Kumeu, we also extend our services nationwide, treating everyone like neighbors. Our team at Jones Accounting Services is actively involved in the community, contributing to school and sports initiatives.

Matthew, our Managing Director, joined Jones Accounting in 1998 and succeeded Alan in 2018. With extensive experience in financial reports, tax returns, IRD negotiations, and accounting software platforms, Matthew ensures the smooth day-to-day workflow of our practice. Outside the office, he has a passion for the ocean, enjoying fishing, diving, and spending quality time with his family.

Alan, our senior advisor, founded Jones Accounting Services after a successful career with the ANZ Bank. With years of experience in liaising with IRD, analyzing financial information, providing tax advice, and producing management and cash flow reports, Alan is a valuable asset to our team. He is an avid sports fan, particularly fond of rugby, cricket, and motorsport. When the weather permits, Alan enjoys sailing on his launch "Breakaway" in the Hauraki Gulf.

Aki, a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, joined our team in 2008. With expertise in preparing monthly and annual accounts, management reporting, budgeting, and tax returns, Aki ensures accurate and comprehensive financial services for all entities. Outside the office, Aki enjoys outdoor activities, visiting cafes, and spending time with family and friends.

Melissa, also a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, has been with us since 2006. With her extensive experience in preparing financial accounts and tax returns, Mel ensures the highest level of professionalism and accuracy in her work. Outside of work, she enjoys golf, boating, traveling, and quality time with her family.

Helen, Alan's wife, has been a part of the business since 1996. She handles the administration of our GST workload and warmly welcomes you at reception. Helen is the friendly voice that will remind you of impending IRD deadlines.

Dana, our newest team member, joined us in 2018 and assists in keeping our office organized. She is one of the friendly faces that will greet you at reception.
