Welcome to Ridgway School, Te Kura o Tawatawa! Located in the vibrant suburb of southern Brooklyn in Wellington, New Zealand, our state co-educational full primary school offers a nurturing and supportive learning environment for our 220 students.
Situated on expansive grounds, Ridgway School enjoys a pleasant setting that allows our students to make the most of the advantages our capital city has to offer. From engaging with the local community to exploring the natural beauty of Wellington, our location provides endless opportunities for educational and recreational experiences.
Our school serves a diverse range of students, with the majority hailing from the surrounding suburbs of Mornington, Vogeltown, Brooklyn, and Kingston. We celebrate this diversity and strive to create an inclusive and harmonious environment where all students feel valued and respected.
At Ridgway School, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that prepares our students for lifelong learning and success. Our dedicated and experienced teaching staff employ innovative teaching methods to engage students in their learning journey. We offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects, including literacy, numeracy, science, social studies, and the arts.
We are proud to have received a generous grant of $5,000 from The Vogelmorn Foundation this year. This grant will be used to provide tutoring for at-risk learners, ensuring that every student at Ridgway School has access to the support they need to thrive academically.
Our school operates on a term-based schedule, with Term 1 running from Tuesday, 7th February to Wednesday, 5th April. Please note that the school will be closed on public holidays such as Waitangi Day on Monday, 6th February, and Good Friday on 7th April. Term 2 will commence on Wednesday, 26th April and conclude on Thursday, 29th June. During this term, the school will be closed on ANZAC Day on Tuesday, 25th April, King's Birthday on Monday, 5th June, and a teacher-only day on Friday, 30th June.

"i went here for primary school. once i left the school to go on to intermediate and was 3 years behind on education and had to catch up big time failed a lot of things because of that. many of the teachers have left due to the Principe and her horrible policy's sad to see so many good teachers leave. most of the class room were covered in most and weren't warm got sick a multitude times due to the bad quality of the class rooms. One of my Friends at the time made a complaint about getting told of for writing a joke on the computer screen saver he got told "he was going to hurt women when he was older""
