This is the essence of mindful self-compassion, a practice we are dedicated to developing within our clients. If you find yourself being harder on yourself than anyone else, struggling to cope with negative emotions, or constantly self-criticizing, you are not alone. It is often easier to offer compassion and support to others, but neglecting to do the same for ourselves.
Mindful self-compassion is about cultivating a respectful, loving, and motivating relationship with yourself. It involves recognizing your human flaws without harsh criticism and instead providing yourself with the comfort and care needed to live with ease and wellbeing. Studies have shown that practicing mindful self-compassion increases emotional resilience and contentment while reducing anxiety, stress, and depression.
The first step towards developing mindful self-compassion is to have a conversation with us and share your story. This conversation is incredibly powerful and serves as a strong foundation for your journey. Drawing on the principles of mindful self-compassion, we will work together to help you reach a place where you can treat yourself with kindness and acceptance, understanding your emotions mindfully and without judgment.
In addition to counselling, our sessions may also incorporate yoga, which integrates the mind and body for a more holistic healing process. Yoga has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety, improve concentration and happiness, and enhance overall health. We will provide you with a personalized yoga program to practice at home, further supporting your mindful self-compassion practice.
