Welcome to Silverdale Vet Hospital at Animates! Located on East Coast Road in Silverdale, New Zealand, our establishment is a point of interest for all your veterinary care needs. Adjacent to Animates, we offer a wide range of services to assist with any needs your furry friend may have.
Our passionate team of vets and nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your pets. Led by clinic manager Chelsea Woodall, our vet team consists of Meagan Markotter, Birthe, Peta, and Elyse, with Lauren and Monica available on weekends. Our nursing team is made up of Paige, Elise, Bronwyn, and Devon.
At Silverdale Vet Hospital, we offer fantastic puppy classes to help your new addition get off to a great start. We understand the importance of proper training and socialization for your furry family member.
During the current lock-down period, we have partnered with My Rover to provide a safe and easy delivery service for your pet's needs. Prescription medications can still be ordered directly from our clinic through the My Rover website.
We take pride in our team's diverse backgrounds and experiences. Dr. Meagan Markotter graduated in South Africa 18 years ago and moved to New Zealand with her family. She has a passion for small animal medicine/surgery and animal behavior. Birthe, originally from Utrecht, The Netherlands, came to New Zealand in 2016 and joined our team in 2017. She has a Master of Equine and enjoys working with both small and large animals. Peta, a New Plymouth native, joined us after finishing her veterinary degree in Palmerston North. She loves all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery. Elyse, a Wellington native, recently graduated from Massey University and has a particular interest in animal welfare.
Our dedicated nursing team brings their expertise and love for animals to our clinic. Chelsea, our clinic manager, holds a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and has been with Veterinary Hospital Group since 2013. Paige, Elise, Bronwyn, and Devon are all passionate about providing the best care for your pets.

"Disappointing customer service over the phone. I had had a missed call from my vet after my visit so I called back a few days later to discuss my dog's condition after being on medication as my vet wanted to check in. However, the person who answered in the morning on 7/8/23 was extremely rude. She was basically telling me off. When I asked her if I'll be charged again or I can get the different medication without seeing a vet, she literally said "WHAT?" with an annoying voice. Whenever I visit them, basically it's at least $250 to $400. I don't understand why I should be treated in this way when paying so much of money, only because I love my dog."
