"Please!! be aware!! Smart Taxi's are truly a "SCAM",all the previous reviews are obviously "TRUE",the same thing happened to me .Smart Cabs are predatory,My girlfriend and I had been out drinking down on the Auckland water front ,we were waiting a considerable amount of time for our uber taxi,a smart Cab pulled up and said he could do us the same price as the uber to head up to K.Road,but he needed as to pay $40 up front and he would run the meter and deduct the rest ,we thought this was odd because uber was going to charge $12 we were suspicious but had been drinking and just wanted to join our mates .We arrived ,he hadn't even turned his meter on the whole trip ,we asked for our change ,he told us to get out of his cab or he would ring the cops.Smart Cabs prey on drunk vulnerable people ."

"PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TAXI COMPANY. I was in Auckland CBD at 1am-ish, looking for my Uber. A 'Smart Cabs' taxi pulled up to me, saying he could do Uber, I was tired so jumped in. When we got to my destination in Royal Oak, he charged me $96.20! I was shocked and tried to question him, he then locked the doors and made me pay! This company are scammers, they drive around looking for people on their own to take advantage of! I tried to dispute it with the company Director and was told it was my fault. A normal cab would be $30-$40. ABSOLUTE SCAM ARTISTS."

"I had the same experience as Azza Apa in the reviews Ordered an Uber, this guy arrived at same time and called us over. Got in and he acted like he was our Uber, drive off and I saw the taxi meter. Told him he wasn't our taxi and he raced towards the motorway so we had no choice of getting out. $15 Uber trip ended up costing me $60 plus I had to pay for Uber with a $10 cancellation fee. I'm pretty sure this guy was an Uber driver too because we saw him after he dropped us off circling around but without the taxi sign on top."

"Originally ordered a uber driver to drive back to place we were staying. Which costed $7 My mate had already paid for it. Driver called me over and I asked him twice if he was the Uber that my mate had ordered and he assured me that he was. So we hopped in then noticed it was a taxi, he started driving us back and refused to let us leave when we told him we had an uber and had already paid. What would of been only $7 ended up being a $19.20 ride, although he charged us $22.20. Add on the $7 my mate couldn't get back from uber and that ended up costing us $29.20 Ruined a good night"

"Worst company EVER. Was charged $32.19 for a 5km trip from Anzac Ave to Mt Eden. Took us down Southern motorway and via Gillies ave. then proceeded to blame the GPS for telling him it was the quickest way. NEVER EVER use these guys unless you want to get ripped-off. BEWARE!!!"
