"When we arrived the manager was complaining to us about a booking that was a no-show the previous day (as we had made enquiries about staying the night before). This was the start of a negative time with the manager. The manager then complained about a piece of cereal that had been crushed in the carpet. He then stated if he found this again we would be charged a cleaning fee on discharge. He would then give a back handed compliment of saying "have a great day" which we found condescending. They offer use of a DVD player but as the TV are secured to the wall, you cannot plug it in without removing the TV from the bracket and when you do plug in the DVD there is no way to support the DVD player. Again he complained about the TV being removed from the bracket and said the DVD leads was too short and accused us of breaking the aerial lead which we hadn't, again he said "have a great day". There was no 'do not disturb' signs, so prepare to have your room cleaned even when you don't want it cleaned. It got to the point we were paranoid and each day felt like the room had to be cleaned before the cleaners showed up. We found this an invasion of privacy. There wasnt a broom or dust pan to sweep up if you do drop food on the floor. When you book a room, you expect to be able to use all the beds. We were instructed not to use one of the beds as he didn't want the other bed used as there was only 4 of us (try explaining that to an 8 year old with ASD and an intellectual disability). We tried to avoid the manager and cleaners by leaving earlier or later in the morning because of his attitude. We know this manager will respond negatively to this review as he does with anyone that posts a negative review about him. Despite the manager and cleaners, the motor inn is in a great location and is within walking distance to eateries and shopping precincts. This is the 2nd time we have stayed and the only reason we did rebook was the location. Unfortunately we won't be returning despite the great location. OK, Mr manager you can now reply negatively to this review."
"Room 11. The room was clean and very comfortable. Going to Ballarat in winter we were worried about being cold in the room but the heating was outstanding and very cosy. The best hot shower outside of home. The only downside was the tv reception wasn’t good but that could have been due to the weather. Bed was very comfortable and the owner extremely helpful. Would recommend for a motel stay"
"Great value, extremely clean, good amenities everything needed, basics done right. Very comfortable. Excellent service, polite and friendly manager. Better than some "hotels" I've stayed at and probably the best motel I've stayed at. Very impressed. We'll definitely be back next time we're down this way."
"Room 12. Clean and tidy with hot plate, saucepans, plates, and cutlery in our room as well as the normal kettle, microwave ect. Neat BBQ area and indoor heated pool. A little TLC needed, would stay there again."
"We rocked up late and were able to check in easily on Easter Sunday! The price was reasonable, very friendly staff and lovely clean room. Very happy we found this place."
