1841 Bar and Restaurant is proud to bring back the spirit of kiwi hospitality. Our establishment is named after the year our community, Johnsonville, was settled by Frank Johnson. We aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere that embodies the values of our local community and the wider Wellington area.

Our menu is filled with hearty dishes that are sure to satisfy all taste buds. Paired with a variety of top beverages, weekly entertainment, live sport screenings, and gaming options, there is something for everyone at 1841. Whether you're with your family or a sports fan, our team is dedicated to making your experience enjoyable from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.

We are open Monday to Thursday from 11am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am until late, and Sunday from 11am to 10pm. Please note that due to our busy kitchen, we are unable to make substitutions. We highly recommend making a booking to ensure you secure a table.

On public holidays, we do not have daily deals, but we also do not charge any surcharges. For bookings or inquiries, please call us at (04) 477-4057 between 11am and late daily.

Looking to host a function? Look no further! We offer FREE venue hire for any occasion, big or small. Our upstairs bar can accommodate up to 110 seated guests or 130 standing, while our restaurant area downstairs is also available for functions. With a fully private area, bar, and toilet facilities, we can cater to birthdays, Christmas parties, engagements, corporate events, and meetings.

As a local business, we are committed to giving back to our community. We invite local schools and community organizations to join us for fun and interactive evenings. Whether it's a quiz night or another fundraising event, we can provide FREE venue hire, a FREE quiz package, and a quiz master. With our help, you can potentially raise over $2500. We can also assist with arranging raffles and auctions to maximize funds raised.

Join us for our upcoming live performances on Friday, September 1st featuring Paul Saker-Norrish, and Saturday, September 2nd with Simon Williams. These talented artists will entertain you from 7pm to 10pm and 7:30pm to 10:30pm respectively.
