At Flying Horse, we are affiliated with the Ballarat & District Trotting Club, making us your ultimate entertainment destination. With various function rooms, harness racing nights, fantastic dining packages, and our newly renovated award-winning venue, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Our recently revamped dining area provides a modern and inviting space for guests to indulge in delicious meals. Whether you join us on race nights in the Terrace Restaurant, where you can overlook Victoria's premier harness racing track at Bray Raceway Ballarat, or opt for a family night out in the Flying Horse Entertainment Venue's bistro and kids' play area, you are guaranteed a memorable dining experience.
Speaking of the kids' play area, it has been specifically designed to keep children entertained for hours. Featuring a built-in playground, interactive game projector, and a stage for performances, it is the perfect space for families to relax and enjoy their time together. Conveniently located within the Flying Horse Entertainment Venue, the play area is easily accessible from the dining area and private function room.
In April 2023, we added even more exciting features to our venue. We renovated our bistro and sporting bar, ensuring a contemporary and comfortable ambiance for our guests. Additionally, we introduced a private function space, allowing you to host special events in style.
To enhance your experience at Flying Horse, we offer a free loyalty program. By joining as a Ballarat & District Trotting Club member, you can stay up to date with our unique venue offers, including discounts on meals and drinks. Members receive a 10% discount on all food and drink in the Flying Horse, as well as a $5 discount on Terrace Restaurant dining tickets (excluding feature race meetings & special offers).

"My family and friends came to help celebrate my 60th birthday. My friend and I ordered our lunch about half way thru my other guests but our meals didn't come out. My friend asked at the counter. We still waited. The waitress came to clear everyone's plates so we asked again. She went to find out. Our meals arrived shortly after. I had the pork stir fry. The taste was delicious but the pork was dry, which was disappointing."

"Very busy, must book. Over 100 bookings thst Saturday we were told. Food and drinks were excellent quality and quantity, whole place large, open, bright and clean. Kids playground us next level awesome. Kids are already asking to go again. Only complaint was that we were Sat at table which was right in front if main doors in the draught. Every table was full but it was spaced enough you didn't have to shout to be heard. Really lovely restaurant, will certainly be returning soon. The choice of meals was extensive."
"After a pretty ordinary experience there just after the refurbishment we decided to give it another go, and I'm glad we did. The food was delicious. Our server Mason was outstanding, he went above and beyond when an item wasn't available to replace it and keep us informed. Fantastic job Mason."
"The renovations to this place have done wonders - the highlight being the seperated kids room. It has an interactive screen and a playground of a mid size (right, outside the photo taken). Food itself is good, well priced, especially if you go on one of the specials days. I liked the smokey parma"
