"We were quickly ushered out of the shop on account of wanting coffees and cake. We promptly told this was a restaurant and we were expected to order breakfast. This was rather confusing as the cakes looked gorgeous. I had planned to book a table later that week for a meal but this was so off-putting."
"Stopped in for breakfast. Coffee and chai were very good. The smoked salmon and zucchini fritters were absolutely delicious and so was the ham and cheese croissant. The homemade croissant was incredibly flaky and buttery which made it extra special. We loved the pastries so took a few for the road. The Portuguese tarts and almond croissants were outstanding. Service was great and the deli attached means you can grab some more goodies to take home too. Can't recommend this place enough."
"Food is amazing! Had dinner and dessert, all dishes were of the highest standard, what you would expect from a high end restaurant. Definitely try the Duck Croquettas, the Rotisserie Chicken, the Eton Mess was awesome to. The wine I had were local and spot on. They really know their stuff when it comes to wine also. Service was great and a nice warm setting."
"You won’t have a bad experience, maybe just not the best. I thought it was a pretty nice looking restaurant. We went in for brunch on the way to Melbourne. Food was nice but the portion size was a bit small. If the customer mispronounces an item on the menu and you what they mean is it really necessary to (almost sternly) correct them or just write on the order and move on. There was absolutely no flexibility in the menu at all, watch out if you have special dietary requirements (ie, calorie restriction). I felt like our server was on the verge of terse and unwelcoming."
"I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting the Harvest Food and Wine Store, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the appalling customer service to the complete disregard for basic hospitality, my visit to this establishment left me thoroughly irritated and dissatisfied. Let me begin by addressing the abysmal customer service I encountered at Harvest Food and Wine Store. The waitress who attended to our table was not only rude, but also condescending and impertinent throughout our interaction. Her dismissive attitude and lack of professionalism were truly disheartening, making it clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority for this establishment. However, the most shocking moment came when we requested pastries to accompany our coffee. Instead of providing a simple and reasonable solution, the waitress claimed that because the establishment is a "restaurant," we were required to leave the premises to consume our coffee. She even had the audacity to suggest pouring our coffee into a takeaway cup and ordering pastries from the counter on our way out. This kind of treatment is not only demeaning to customers but also reflects a complete disregard for basic hospitality and customer convenience. Such an unreasonable policy not only ruined the ambiance of the establishment but also left a bitter taste in our mouths. As patrons, we expected to enjoy a pleasant dining experience, where we could leisurely enjoy our coffee and pastries while appreciating the atmosphere of the store. Instead, we were met with unnecessary rules and a blatant lack of respect. Moreover, the overall atmosphere of the Harvest Food and Wine Store was underwhelming. The ambiance was lackluster, and it felt like a generic cafeteria rather than a welcoming establishment. The lack of attention to detail in the decor and overall presentation further added to our disappointment. In addition to the poor customer service and inconvenient policy, the quality of the food and beverages failed to meet even the most basic expectations. The coffee was bland and lacked the flavor profile one would expect from a specialty store. The pastries, which we had to order separately, were mediocre at best. They were stale and tasted as if they had been sitting out for far too long. TL;DR: In summary, my experience at Harvest Food and Wine Store was nothing short of a disappointment. The appalling customer service, exemplified by the rude and condescending waitress, left a lasting negative impression. The unreasonable policy of having to leave the premises to consume coffee and purchase pastries separately was inconvenient and showed a lack of understanding of customer needs. The overall atmosphere of the store was lackluster, and the quality of the food and beverages failed to impress. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you value good customer service, convenience, and a pleasant dining experience."
