Reviews of Hazelmont Cottage Bed & Breakfast
"We stayed her for a couple of nights in August with our Westie and all absolutely loved it. It was really private and peaceful and the bird life was awesome too. Would highly recommend it and the restaurant Myrtille and adjoining bakery My Little Blueberry in the neighbouring town of Crows Nest."
"Stayed here for 3 magical nights. So relaxing watching the birds from the deck during the day, and resting by the fire at night. Highly recommended for a peaceful break in the forest."
"We stayed at Hazelmont Cottage from the middle of February until early March this year. I had a very unsatisfactory stay at Hazelmont. Monday and Fridays they weren't home and their dog barked all day from the time they left in the morning until they arrived home late afternoon around 5.30pm. Most nights their security light would come on and light up the Cottage for a long period of time. No curtains near the bed on your right-hand side as you walk into the cottage. Had no peace and quiet. In my opinion the cottage is to close to their own house. Comings and goings all the time due to Hazelmont running another business and cars coming and going The power was turned off for a full day and sent our food off. Was not told about the no power until the last moment. I asked if I could put some meat in her freezer, answer, ( no room )They knew the power would be turned off prior to our arrival but said nothing. Another time and day the power went out again but this time was only a short time. No phone reception and not much t.v reception. Had to walk up a very steep hill to try to get anything. The only way you could watch TV was via sitting on the bed. I thought this was unacceptable. If I had seen the cottage beforehand I would've found somewhere else to stay. Please ask for inside photos before handing over any money. The cottage is very small. In my opinion check the place out before staying anywhere. This place is in the middle of absolute nowhere. It gives me great sadness to write this review, it breaks my heart to have to give this honest review, but I was constantly asked to put a review up by Hazelmont. I didn't enjoy my stay. I will not be back and I would not return. Hazelmont deserves no stars but I have give a star. Hazelmont needs to update their Web pages to give customers a more informed choices. In response to the owners response I am responding to your comments. I put in an honest review... I could have raised a lot of other issues but I didn't out of respect for you. It was actually 19 days not 18 as YOU stated. Everything I stated was the truth, by the way CARDS, WHAT CARDS . For the record we did approach you about the meat but you were defensive about the meat. The steps leading down to the small cottage and the cattle grid is a health and safety issue. I could've added a lot more but I'm not going to get into a slanging match with you. Hopefully you can learn and grow from this review to inhance your business at Hazelmont."
"Stayed here for 2 night with my partner and our dog. Beautifully located in the middle of nature yet cozy and relaxing! Sunset and the night sky were stunning. Wood fire oven for pizza was a great experience as well. We’ll def come back!"
"Driving amongst beautiful scenery to a truly amazing place to stay. Parking was signed and very easy to get in and out of. It was a bit cooler at night which we loved but plenty of blankets and even a fire place to keep us warm! Highly recommend paying that bit extra for the wood fired pizza! It was fun and delicious! Heaps of mosquito coils and insect repellant too which is great for those (like myself) that they just seem to love to bite!"
