About Berry Springs Nature Park
Welcome to Berry Springs Nature Park, one of Australia's most breathtaking parks located just a short distance from Darwin. This establishment is not your average park – it is a true oasis where you can escape the heat and unwind in nature's embrace.
As you enter Berry Springs, you will be greeted by the refreshing sight of clear swimming pools surrounded by lush trees and teeming with aquatic life. It's the perfect place to cool off and relax with family and friends. The park offers fantastic shaded picnic and barbeque areas, providing a serene setting for a delicious outdoor meal.
If you are a nature enthusiast, Berry Springs has something special for you. The park boasts an abundance of native flowers that bloom from March to April, creating a vibrant and colorful atmosphere. For those who love exploring, the monsoon forest and woodlands walk is a must-do. This trail takes you through the diverse Top End habitats, allowing you to witness the beauty of the region's flora and fauna.
History buffs will also find interest in Berry Springs. The park holds remnants of its World War II past, when it served as a base for over 100,000 armed forces personnel. Discover the stories and traces of this significant period as you explore the park.
Berry Springs Nature Park is conveniently located within an easy day trip from Darwin, making it an ideal destination for a memorable outing. For a complete experience, consider combining your visit with a trip to the nearby Territory Wildlife Park, where you can encounter a wide array of unique Australian wildlife.
Please note that the swimming pools may be closed during the Wet Season from October to April due to flooding and water quality concerns. However, the park remains open for picnics, allowing you to still enjoy its natural beauty.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, it is important to be aware of potential risks. The park may have varying levels of microscopic organisms that can cause gastroenteritis, tropical ear infections, or other illnesses. Additionally, slippery surfaces and varying water depths require caution. Follow safety guidelines and take necessary precautions to have a safe and comfortable trip to Berry Springs Nature Park.
We would also like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the First Nations people of this country. The Northern Territory Government recognizes their ongoing connection to their lands, waters, and communities, and honors the rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Come and experience the tranquility and natural beauty of Berry Springs Nature Park – a true gem nestled in the heart of Australia's stunning landscape.

Reviews of Berry Springs Nature Park
"Fabulous place to visit and swim in the springs. Loved it. The water is clean and warm so you can stay in for ages. Totally awesome."
"Well, what can I say. These are the best natural springs we've come across so far, including Bitter Springs in Mataranka. There's a small waterfall where the water is shallower and 2 large swimming holes which are deep. There are ladders to get in and out of the water. The surrounds are absolutely beautiful. There is also a park with tables and benches and BBQ as well as public amenities and change rooms. There's also a small Kiosk on site that operates with limited hours. Highly recommend this place for a visit."
"Amazing for relaxing early morning bath and shoulder massage before the crowds arrive. Plenty of parking and good, clean amenities. If you’re not a confident swimmer, bring a pool noodle to float your way down between the pools and a pair of swimming goggles to spot many different fish and maybe a small croc or two."
"What a gem of a spot this is! Beautiful swimming holes connected along the creek system so you can swim in between the different areas. The thermal pools are nice and warm but still refreshing on a hot day. Hey there early before the crowds as it definitely gets busy. There’s a croc fence along the creek for piece of mind."
"Beautiful springs! Large swimming area and the water is a nice warm temperature. Such a pretty area & huge fish to swim with. Be mindful that they close up the pools at 6/6:30."
