Welcome to Tasnique, a unique institution located at 31 Thistle Street West in South Launceston, Australia. We are an establishment, point of interest, and store that aims to support Tasmanian makers, manufacturers, and innovators in showcasing their creations to the world. At Tasnique, we understand that these talented individuals excel at creating, making, and innovating beautiful things, and we are here to help them navigate the challenges of the online marketplace.

Tasnique was founded in March 2020, during the uncertain times of the Covid-19 crisis. Many Tasmanian hand-crafted makers and builders suddenly found themselves without their main source of customers as tourists and travelers were no longer able to visit the state. Determined not to give in or give up, two fine timber product makers, Bruce and Craig of Bruces Boxes, decided to take their business online. However, they faced the challenge of not knowing how to "go online."

Fortunately, through a personal connection with Peter Harback, the founder of Launceston-based online retailer CoolThings Australia, Bruce and Craig teamed up with Tasnique. Peter, a serial digital maker, loves helping people build businesses and saw an opportunity to assist Craig and Bruce in getting their beautiful products online. Additionally, Tasnique serves as a platform to support other Tasmanian makers who want to focus on their craft without the worries of selling online.
