Casuarina Wellard Community Hall

Welcome to the Casuarina Wellard Community Hall, located in the heart of Casuarina and Wellard East in Western Australia's City of Kwinana. This establishment holds a special place in the community, as it was built by local residents who invested their time, energy, and resources into creating a space that represents the spirit of our community.

The Casuarina Wellard Community Hall is a versatile venue, perfect for hosting a variety of events such as large functions, weddings, birthday parties, dancing, and indoor activity groups. With its safe and friendly environment, it provides a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Please note that while we welcome various celebrations, we do not permit 16th to 21st Birthday parties.

Accessibility is a priority at our facility, with three entry points to the main area, double doors on each side, separate kitchen access, and an outdoor rear toilet door for external facility hires. The well-equipped kitchen includes a domestic-sized fridge, oven, electric hot plates, range-hood, sink, microwave oven, urn, bain-marie, and pie warmer. Food can be conveniently served from the kitchen using the internal and external canteen hatches.

To ensure a comfortable experience for our visitors, we provide chairs, tables, reverse cycle air conditioning, and all necessary kitchen facilities as part of the hire fee. However, please note that storage space is limited, so plan accordingly.

Parking is available outside the hall or in the court area, but please avoid parking in front of the Fire Station to allow for emergency access. In May 2019, the undercover barbecue was removed to make way for proposed Fire Station additions. However, we have relocated two large stainless steel hot plates behind the Hall, adjacent to the playground equipment. These hot plates are free for community use, featuring an automatic ignition system that operates on a timer.

We kindly request that users clean the hot plates and surface areas after use to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Additionally, our outdoor basketball and tennis court area is open to the public at all times. CWPA members can request tennis nets, while non-members can hire them for a small fee. Please note that the grass oval behind the community hall and fire station is not available for regular hire, except for special full-day events. It is otherwise freely accessible to local residents, but please be aware that the Kwinana South Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade conducts exercises on the oval.

Lastly, a playground is situated between the community hall and oval, which is regularly maintained by the City of Kwinana for the enjoyment of children and families.
