Alice Thorn, the founder of our institution, possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. She graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science from Denmark, Scandinavia, and had the unique opportunity to be the first exchange student from Denmark to study at Melbourne University in Australia. After her graduation, Alice moved to Melbourne and spent six years working as a senior physiotherapist in neurology and neuroscience at The Alfred Hospital, specializing in the assessment and treatment of vertigo.

In 2004, Alice relocated to Darwin and worked at Top Health Physiotherapy & Acupuncture for nearly a decade before establishing her own clinic on Cavenagh Street in 2013. Alice's expertise extends to a wide range of conditions, including neck and back pain, joint and muscle problems, arthritis, headaches, sports injuries, and post-surgical management. She also has specific training as a vestibular physiotherapist, enabling her to effectively treat various cases of vertigo.

At Alice Thorn Acupuncture & Physiotherapy, we offer holistic and individualized treatments that incorporate acupuncture, physiotherapy, cupping, moxibustion, and exercise prescription. Alice is a registered acupuncture therapist and a member of The Australian Society of Acupuncture Physiotherapists (ASAP). She is also registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and regularly undertakes annual studies in acupuncture and physiotherapy to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.

Alice's passion for women's health is evident in her particular interest in all aspects of this field. Additionally, she is registered with all private health funds and offers the convenience of HICAPS machine at the clinic. We accept DVA and EPC referrals, although we regret that we do not offer bulk billing for workers' compensation or motor vehicle insurance cases.
