"do not stay here. my family and i booked to stay a night on our way down to hobart and left after an hour of arriving. the rooms were filthy (hairballs on the floor, sticky toilet seats, dust and hair in the bathroom) and there were sketchy people lingering outside our room door as we entered and left. none of us felt safe in the property and quickly left, the concierge didn’t seem at all surprised as we checked out. i would not stay here as a solo traveller or as part of a group."
"Manager was friendly and helpful. The rate was inexpensive and the building overall is a little tired, however the room was large and had all the amenities offered by much more expensive hotels, just a little more basic which I expected. The location is terrific. 5 minutes to the CBD, good cafe next door, Cornwall Bus Transit Centre roughly 10 minutes walk away."
"My family and I stayed in the family room. The room is totally different from what was shown in the pictures. It is definitely old and the toilet door can't even close properly. My husband can literally see me from the outside of the toilet. The hotel environment is old, creepy with some weird odour. The only good thing about this hotel is the strategic location. Other than that, try to avoid at all cost."
"Please don’t make the same mistake as us and READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING!!! We arrived with average expectations considering the price point, but once we saw our room we were highly disappointed. The room was nothing as pictured online and the cleanliness of the space was nonexistent. We opened the fridge to find long strands of hair, mould on the ceilings of the bathroom and a general musty odour. It looked and smelt as if it hadn’t had a good cleaning service in a long time. We debated staying due to the cost of finding last minute accommodation elsewhere but after reading the reviews online we agreed it wasn’t worth the risk. Especially as two women we felt uncomfortable with the idea of the questionable people loitering around the halls and general lobby area of the hotel. There was the general feeling between us that this wasn’t a place worth staying and risking an unsafe situation occurring, particularly at night. We checked out within the hour and we’re sent a text asking for a 10/10 review of the property. Overall don’t waste your money even stepping foot in the lobby let alone the dirty rooms."
"The gentlemen who greeted us as we checked in was lovely and helpful, however the rest of the experience was not what I expected. Parking is very limited so we had to circle the streets multiple times to find a car park. The first thing I noticed when entering was the state of the carpet in the lobby, it only got worse going up the stairs. The room we stayed in had the basics but looked like it had not been properly cleaned in a while. I was going to sleep on the top bunk until I climbed the ladder and saw a red stain on the doona cover. I quickly changed my mind. The window sill was home to dust and dead bugs and we were kept company by other noisy guests and people yelling on the street. The bathroom needed a clean, I wasn’t game enough to put my bare feet on the floor so I shuffled around on the bath mat. I went down to the communal kitchen to use a microwave and was greeted by a pungent smell and mess left from other guests. The first microwave I opened looked like something had died in it, the second had a loaf of bread in it and the third had a plate with 4 soggy, week-old looking sweet potatoes in it - I nearly dropped my dinner in shock. The washing up utensils were filthy and looked like they would have made the cutlery dirtier than they were to begin with."
