Welcome to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (ATSILS) in Toowoomba City, Australia. Established in 1972, ATSILS is a community-based legal assistance organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the legal and human rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Located on Union Street, ATSILS offers a wide range of civil, family, and criminal law services. Our dedicated team also provides prevention, intervention, and community legal education programs, as well as coronial and public sector monitoring and Throughcare services.

Our mission is to foster collaborative partnerships with our communities, key government and non-government stakeholders to influence positive change and deliver high-quality legal services for our people within, or exposed to the justice system.

At ATSILS, we firmly believe in acknowledging and respecting the Traditional Custodians and Elders – past, present, and future. We pay the deepest respect to the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work.
