Bicentennial Park
Esplanade, Darwin City, Northern Territory, Australia
About Bicentennial Park
Welcome to Bicentennial Park, located in the heart of Darwin City on the beautiful Esplanade. This establishment is not just your average park, but a vibrant and bustling point of interest that offers something for everyone.
As you enter Bicentennial Park, you will immediately be captivated by its lush green surroundings and stunning views overlooking the harbor. It is no wonder that this park has become one of the most popular green spaces in the CBD, attracting both locals and tourists alike.
For families with children, the Bicentennial Play Space is a must-visit. This innovative play area offers a range of exciting features designed to cater to kids of all ages and abilities. From climbing structures to swings and slides, your little ones will be entertained for hours.
But it's not just the kids who can have fun here. The park also boasts an outdoor cross zone, specifically designed for ages 13 and above. This area provides a unique opportunity for individuals to engage in free weight and bodyweight training. Don't forget to download the KOMPAN App, which offers over 140 animated exercise tutorials and programs tailored to the Bicentennial Park cross zone.
As you explore the park, you will come across the Darwin Cenotaph, an important monument that serves as a tribute to the Australian servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Cenotaph is accompanied by an eternal flame and the Bombing of Darwin memorial garden, serving as a reminder of the city's history.
If you are planning an event in a public park, Bicentennial Park is an ideal choice. However, it is recommended to book well in advance, regardless of the size of your event. Our dedicated Customer Services team is here to assist you with your needs and ensure a successful gathering.
At Bicentennial Park, we also recognize and pay respect to the Larrakia people, the Traditional Owners of the land and waterways in Darwin. We value the cultural heritage of the area and encourage reconciliation between all diverse backgrounds and cultures that have contributed to the city over the years.
So whether you're looking for a peaceful stroll along the shared paths, a fun-filled day at the Play Space, or a moment of reflection at the Cenotaph, Bicentennial Park is the perfect destination for you. Come and experience the natural beauty and rich history that this institution has to offer.

Reviews of Bicentennial Park
"A huge and nice park stretching parallel to almost the length of the City of Darwin. Easy access to and from the city streets, waterfront, hotels, and historical landmarks. The park is very beautiful and has a lot of different information points, providing a glimpse of the Darwin' past. Has a well maintained playground for kids and exercise area for grown-ups, too."
"My neices absolutely love this park. At 13 and 9 you would have thought they would be too "old" to have as much no phone exercise as they did! We went after dark so there were no little ones to get hurt and we all had a great time on the play equipment they have there. Photos are from a different day in daylight because our night visit was too much fun to hold a camera all night!!"
"Nice park with great views and plenty of shade to relax in."
"Lovey park with views of the water. Walk ways and pathways take you through the park as you still have lovely views of the water. View bench seats to sit on or grab a shady tree to sit under. Beautiful plants along the park also. Recommend anyone to check it out."
"Enjoy the sea breeze and tropical ambience in this well maintained and extensive park. Loved by locals and tourists alike, the park offers tribute to the Darwin's war effort and history, as well as providing playgrounds and walking tracks. Complete with plenty of shady trees, seating and tables, the park is a wonderful gem stretching along the entire southern border of the CBD."
