"Good hospital with plenty of services on offer however its easy to get lost inside the labyrinth of corridors."
"Presented for a procedure at Day Surgery. Was treated well and in a friendly manner. Staff very professional and helpful. Very happy with the whole experience. A big thank you to everyone."
"A big thank you to St Andrew’s. Took my mother to see Dr Brownlie yesterday. We were parked out the front of his surgery. Settled Mum into my car to leave, then went around to the drivers side but the car beside me parked so close to me that I couldn’t get in. Took a photo & did a round of people to see whose car it was. Two very nice men told me to announce over the PA system. Did this & one of men came up to the office to check on me. Think he might be the head man at the hospital. Super nice. Went back to my car & another man appeared to say he would crawl across from the passenger seat. He backed my car out. The head man was coming down to check on me. Thank you to all concerned ✅✅✅"
"I have just left Saint Andrews hospital after having a total knee replacement I had doctor Craig Brownie he is a very top surgeon and made me feel comfortable I was in East ward and I could not fault the nurses there they were excellent So many thanks to coffee shop catering staff and cleaners who helped make my 7 day stay enjoyable. Once again thank you very much I am home now and recovering very well. I must not forget the physio staff more soJamie for believing in me. It felt so nice to be cared for by such nice staff that is one of the reasons I choose saint andrews as I worked there for over 21 years and it feels like a second home to me"
"I have been in for major surgery twice here. Total colectomy and recently total hip replacement. The surgeons and teams are fantastic. Sadly once you are on the wards you are in dangerous waters. First time following colectomy I was in so much pain I could not breath as my nurse decided I did not need the pain meds prescribed. Luckily my stoma nurse turned up and saved the day. Recently after hip replacement I went into AFib during the night as I also have a heart condition. This time the Dr refused to give me my med even though an ECG had proved I was in an unsafe condition. 5 hours later I asked for an ambulance 3 times as I thought I was on death's door. A quick call to the Dr again and the pill was administered. Later in the morning a nursing supervisor arrived and proceeded to accuse me of making the nurses feel uncomfortable and going through my chart trying to disprove my having AFib at all. I found this to be very intimidating and not what I was expecting after a long long night. Shortly after this the Dr turned up and justified her dicision to leave me in AFib for 5 hours. Later that afternoon I again went into AFib this time even more severe and I was sure I would not survive. Not one person came to check on me all day. I feel quite lucky to still be here. If this is the standard of duty of care for a patient now, well I can only say there is nowhere else to go, you are at rock bottom."
