"Best classic place to chill out next to The Cozy Hostel, Darwin"
"Underwhelming. On a slow Friday evening, with very few patrons and 4 bar staff we were underwhelmed with the lack and speed of service. We dropped $600 on cocktails and a fee wines. Over a 3.5 hour stay, our group was given a small cup of popcorn. We had ro ask for 2 more. Then the owner's dog made an appearance, off leash and jumped into our group, climbing and scratching our guests legs, almost without an apology or remorse from the owner. Only 1 of the bar staff appeared to have any knowledge of wine (ie difference between red and white). The venue is quirky although the music was far too loud for conversation. For an establishment setting itself at the higher price point, we would have thought that the service would be far better and at least some accompanying food on offer. We are well travelled and have close links to hospitality and know what is good and not so good... this experience was, given the market positioning, quite palling."
"Great coastal-industrial ambiance with tasty handcrafted cocktails. There was a DJ playing when we were there on a Saturday evening. Definitely a great vibe and upscale ambiance."
"Reeeeeeeeeeallll dark and dimly lit place - I couldn't even see some of my other mates who were present that night! Having said that it's good for a romantic or closer atmosphere, with some good cocktails and funky bar staff. The prices are a bit spice at around 20 for a cocktail, but overall the location is quite advantageous as well being close to the centre but not TOO close."
"Visited The Trader Bar twice while visiting from the UK, Saturday evening cocktail, DJ playing music great atmosphere. Second visit Sunday morning coffee and pastries equally as good, thank you"
