One of the highlights of our calendar is the Dog Adoption Day, taking place on Saturday 2 September at the Aeroglen Dog Park. This heartwarming event provides an opportunity to find a new furry friend who will bring joy and companionship into your life.
If you have a knack for finding treasures, don't miss the Trash to Treasure Fair on the same day, Saturday 2 September 2023, from 9am to 1pm at the Buy Back Shop in Portsmith. Discover unique and sustainable items while contributing to a greener future.
While we eagerly await the Cairns Festival Grand Parade, we regret to inform you that it will not be rescheduled this year. However, rest assured that there are countless other captivating events and attractions to experience within Sunrise Park and its surroundings.
In recognition of the late Stan Marsh's contributions, the council is considering naming the pavilion in Norman Park, Gordonvale, in his honor. This serves as a testament to the impact he made on the community and his enduring legacy.
At Sunrise Park, we are committed to environmental preservation. Recently, at the launch of Clean Up Cairns, a staggering 10,350 cigarette butts were collected from three city streets, underscoring our dedication to maintaining the beauty of our surroundings.
