The Byrnes Family, who have been in the meat industry since 1960, purchased their first Butcher Shop in the charming town of Atherton, located on the Atherton Tablelands. To expand their retail outlet, they acquired a slaughter yard in Tolga in 1962. This facility, known as Rocky Creek Abattoir, is Australian Meat Accredited and has a license to slaughter up to 150 Head of Cattle a day. All cattle purchased by Portsmith Quality Meats are slaughtered in this facility before being sent to our factory in Manunda.
