As a leading establishment in cancer care, we are dedicated to providing exceptional health services and support to individuals in the Cairns and Hinterland regions, as well as the Torres Strait Islands and Cape York.

At the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre, we understand the importance of coordinating comprehensive cancer treatment. Our centre offers specialized outpatient clinics and treatment in Haematology, Medical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology. Our team of highly skilled professionals is committed to delivering personalized care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

To assist individuals in understanding and coordinating their cancer treatments, we provide a cancer care coordinator service. This service is available to those who have received a cancer diagnosis, possess a Medicare card, and are patients of the Cairns Cancer Care service. It is important to note that a referral from your GP is not required.

In our efforts to make cancer care more accessible, we utilize telehealth services. This innovative approach allows us to provide specialist cancer services to rural, remote, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. Through videoconferencing, patients can conveniently consult with their doctors and specialists without the need for extensive travel.

Telehealth services can be utilized for a range of cancer-related treatments, including haematology and bone marrow transplantation, medical and radiation oncology, palliative care, as well as nursing and allied health services. We strive to bring quality care closer to home for our patients, ensuring they receive the support they need throughout their cancer journey.

Collaboration is key in providing comprehensive cancer care, and we work closely with the Gordonvale Hospital to extend our palliative care services. Additionally, we collaborate with GPs, community health services, the Queensland Cancer Council, the Leukaemia Foundation, and other community organizations to enhance the support available to our patients.
