selectability Townsville
About the Business
Welcome to selectability Townsville! Located at 66-68 Charles Street in Aitkenvale, our establishment is dedicated to improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland.
As a specialized institution, selectability provides a range of mental health services and support. We are proud to offer NDIS services and deliver government-funded mental wellbeing initiatives and programs. Over the years, we have supported thousands of regional Queenslanders in achieving their goals and maximizing the benefits of their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) packages.
At selectability, we firmly believe that all regional Queenslanders deserve access to high-quality mental wellbeing and suicide prevention supports right in their own communities. Our group programs are designed to help individuals stay connected, make new friends, learn new skills, have fun, and ultimately improve their mental wellbeing.
Our dedicated team is always growing and adapting to meet the emerging needs within the NDIS and community services sectors. As one of Queensland's largest NDIS providers of mental health and suicide prevention support and services, we have a wide footprint that extends from our head office in Townsville to Cairns in the north, Rockhampton in the south, Mount Isa in the west, and Palm Island in the east.
We understand the importance of effective communication, which is why we can arrange interpreter services for most languages. We strive to ensure that everyone can access our services without barriers.
In line with our commitment to cultural respect and inclusivity, selectability acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we provide services. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We also recognize and appreciate those with lived experience, as well as those who support and partner with us to improve mental wellbeing and prevent suicide across regional Queensland.
Join us at selectability Townsville and let us support you in your journey towards better mental wellbeing. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of regional Queenslanders.

"I uh don't quite understand the whole system yet even 2years under this quite large prodominatly NDIS funded company I mean they pick me up they drive me around then another day we do it all over again..its cool but to me just another system I mean they will dump you just as fast as the moneys out and to this day apart from transport help I don't see how anyone apart from select ability mostly benifitted from the 130grand budget over the last 2 years..im not saying that's a bad thing..creating jobs and putting fuel in people's cars all helps the economy but apart from being driven around even though I hold a licence and have someone to chat to when im alone there has probably not been much benifit for myself in any regards.. I think the NDIS was created for "jobs" and probably not so much the participant but it is just my theory Why is the hr rate so high in Townsville and mt isa which I won't mention if the company is non for profit..we know everyone has overheads but im talking your average mechanic and then some.. I do like alot of people who work here and the happy personalities though after being rejected for some help that could have actually helped me..the uh NDIS instead just added 120grand more useless money to the budget Yay me now I have 1/4million dollars in funding for some one to drive over and talk to me (that was in a sarcastic voice) Its it really a budget to assist me at all?? Or is it about making a big company a little bit bigger?? And get some free coffee"
"Minus 5 billion stars for Karine OUTRIGHT LYING TO ME about availability!!! She was OBVIOUSLY JUST AFTER THE NDIS MONEY BUT SELECTABILTY ABSOLUTELY FAILED some support workers were excellent, shame they're NOT ALLOWED TO FFS AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
"Please don’t let these people into your family’s lives. Despite the calls and emails that I have sent asking for support that is at a regular time, and pleading for consistency in workers so we aren’t dealing with complete strangers every week and someone can start to help us, I have only experienced that selectability workers do not care, and that team leaders will not help. They charge at the highest possible rate ($56.81 per hour - this was $48.14 just in June 19) and do not even bother to call you when they don’t have a worker coming when you expect them. I have spoken to clients and workers, and know I am not alone in being treated this way. I hope that others do not make the same mistake as we did, and chooses a support provider that will actually support."
"6 weeks without Supports shift cancelled with only minutes notice. Nil compassion or understanding from management."
"Shift changes without notification, cancelled shifts without notification, shifts cut in half without notification, I tried to leave a complaint which resulted in a promise of a call back from management by the end of the week, it's been 3 weeks since that date"
