While we regret to inform you that the Cairns Festival Grand Parade will not be rescheduled this year, we are excited to announce that the council is considering naming the pavilion in Norman Park, Gordonvale, in honor of the late Stan Marsh. This is a testament to the impact he made on our community and his dedication to preserving our natural beauty.
In line with our commitment to the environment, we recently launched Clean Up Cairns, an initiative aimed at keeping our streets clean. At the launch event, over 10,350 cigarette butts were collected from three city streets. This serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible waste disposal and the role we all play in maintaining a clean and sustainable city.
As a council, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of our region, including the Djabugay, Yirrganydji, Buluwai, Gimuy Walubara Yidinji, Mandingalbay Yidinji, Gunggandji, Dulabed and Malanbara Yidinji, Bundabarra and Wadjanbarra Yidinji, Wanyurr Majay, Mamu, and NgadjonJii peoples. Reviews of Crathern Close Park
"Beautiful little green space right in the heart of Edge Hill. Great place to just sit and find some quiet time or for the kids to play in. The community gardens are also pretty cool if you have a green thumb. The huge trees also provide some fantastic shade all year round. Also has access to the bus stop on the southern side and all of the cafes and yoga studios on the Northern side."
"It's a very small secluded park."
