About the Business
Welcome to Fig Tree Play Ground, located at Cairns City, Esplanade, 34-38. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer a diverse range of cultural experiences, arts, music, comedy, visual arts, and family events. From Friday 25 August to Sunday 3 September, immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of creativity and entertainment.
One of our upcoming events is the Dog Adoption Day on Saturday 2 September at the Aeroglen Dog Park. This is a wonderful opportunity to find a new furry friend and give them a loving home.
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce the Trash to Treasure Fair, taking place on Saturday 2 September 2023 from 9am-1pm at the Buy Back Shop in Portsmith. This fair is a chance to discover unique treasures and support sustainable practices.
Unfortunately, the Cairns Festival Grand Parade will not be rescheduled this year, as advised by the council. However, there are plenty of other exciting activities to enjoy during this period.
In honor of the late Stan Marsh, the council is considering naming the pavilion in Norman Park, Gordonvale after him. This is a testament to his contributions and impact on the community.
We are also proud to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of our region, including the Djabugay, Yirrganydji, Buluwai, Gimuy Walubara Yidinji, Mandingalbay Yidinji, Gunggandji, Dulabed and Malanbara Yidinji, Bundabarra and Wadjanbarra Yidinji, Wanyurr Majay, Mamu, and NgadjonJii peoples. We extend this respect to all elders, past, present, and future, as well as other First Peoples within our region.
For any inquiries or to visit us in person, please find us at Council Chambers: 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns, QLD, 4870, Australia. We look forward to welcoming you to Fig Tree Play Ground and providing you with memorable experiences.

"Nice playground but not really suitable for toddlers."
"We live the fig tree playground! Not as busy as Muddys, which I'd prefer in hot weather but still nice and shady. The tree is so impressive!"
"Such a lovely play area. Well worth a visit with young kids."
"An incredible playground for the kids. Probably suited to at least 4yrs + depending on how adventurous your child is. Easy enough to keep an eye on the kids… most of the time. Definitely worth a visit!"
"One of the more interesting tree house spotted that even adults are tempted to play hide and seek amongst and in between the branches. Below the tree house is not less beckoning especially with the serene water backdrop and the sound of docking ship blowing its horn. We really enjoy this park. People watching, reading on the many wooden benches and two eatery premises on offer. One corner is Hemingway's Brewery (spotted people playing billiard table inside) and Wharf One Cafe on the other end. A must for us strollers."
