"Long time cairns locals finally went to ochre. We ordered the 3 course option, unfortunately service was a bit slow (some big tables in) and the pork belly was dry and over cooked. Coconut prawns were beautiful! Husband had the big steak and loved it. I had the lamb shank, meat was great but the lentil combo with it was an odd mix with the meat. Desert was delicious and wait staff very friendly."
"Really Fabulous Upscale Food from Local Ingredients! We had such a feast! The Australian Antipasta tasting plate was a work of art and lets you try crocodile, emu, kangaroo and salmon, each deliciously prepared with other local ingredients. We also had the really tasty local bugs, a huge salad, the waddle seed damper, and a delicious desert. Portions are generous so it was good that we came hungry. The wine list was also excellent with many different wines available by the glass (small or large). Excellent service as well with very attentive but not intrusive staff (thank you Alice). Of course there is a beautiful view as well. It was a splurge but SO worth it."
"This was such an amazing experience. The food was incredible- I thought I didn’t like papaya until I tried the delicious papaya salad that came with the sea bugs. It was a great way to sample Australian cuisine and with the most incredible view right on the water. Staff was very friendly and helpful in learning more about the menu. Probably my favorite meal during my trip to Australia."
"Great restaurant & interesting food my waiter had only been there 2 days, young french guy. So when I asked about the menu he had call someone more senior, not a big deal as someone came quickly the sauce for one of the entree was a bit over powering for me, crocodile & prawns the Morton bay bugs a little over salted apart from this, everything was very good. wine list was very impressive, but I don't understand why the kitchen closed at 9.00 pm, but apparently that's normal would definitely recommend"
