"A great restaurant in Cairns, delicious food that reminded me of my trip to Greece a decade ago. It took me back to that unique Greek hospitality and amazing flavours & textures. I’m so happy to have found it in the first few days of our holiday to be able to go again before we left. I wish we had something like this in every big city in Australia."

"Had a wonderful time at Yaya’s tonight and managed to walk in for dinner without reservation :) we tried the eggplant dip, octopus, the lamb shank, and had the Baklava ice cream for dessert. Each dish was delicious but our favourites has got to be the lamb shank (the meat literally fell off the bone) and the baklava ice cream. Cannot recommend this restaurant more for its exceptional service & delicious food."

"Nice Traditional Greek in Cairns: I was greeted by Kosta and was seated in the veranda outdoor area which had a Greek seaside taverna vibe. Yaya’s is a casual and traditional greek dining experience. I ordered the Zucchini chips share plate as a starter and the Mixed grill for a main and washed it all down with an ouzo. The meals came out quickly. The zucchini was nicely fried and not soggy, the tzatziki accompaniment was fresh and tasted house made (not too garlicky). All elements of the mixed grill were tasty with the slow cooked lamb being the standout- falling off the bone and packed full of flavour. The lamb cutlet was a bit dry. The baked lemon potatoes were really good (almost as good as mums). All up a really nice dish. The atmosphere was nice with some Greek background music (some of my favorite old time tracks). Not too loud and pleasant for a conversation. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. I’ve tried the other Greek restaurants in Cairns CBD and Yaya’s is the best. Be sure to book because they are always busy (I tried twice unsuccessfully for a walk in). I will definitely come again and love to come with a group and do the mezethes share plates and also try their Loukoumathes -Greek honey donuts, one of my favourite Greek desserts."

"Authentic greek cuisine! We’ve been to Greece many times and the food is actually one of the main reasons we keep going back to Greece! Dinner here was really good and it made us miss the summer days in Greece. The moussaka is to die for and the octopus is also really tasty. Very big portions and super friendly staff. Very good price to quality ratio!"

"We went here on Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the staff were efficient, interactive and friendly and the place was overall very lively. One of the best restaurants we've been to in Cairns. Great venue for family and larger groups. It is an absolute must if you are ever in Cairns! I highly recommend it :)"
