"Love a good salvos, right near the Lara station so while I'm waiting for my bus I love to visit. Good prices and a good deal for students on Wednesdays. I recommend!"
"Dear Rodney Movell, Your experience at our store is unfortunate and not reflective of our organizational ethos. While miscommunications can occur, we are dedicated to ensuring respectful interactions between staff, volunteers, and our patrons. The incident you've described seems to be a momentary lapse, rather than a chronic issue. An important empirical consideration is the nature of volunteer-based organizations. Sometimes, the pressure of managing diverse donations can lead to unintended curt responses. This is not an excuse, but it provides a broader perspective of the situation. Rene Descartes urged us to question everything but also to understand the context. While the manager's communication could have been more polished, this isolated incident shouldn't cast a shadow over the entirety of their people skills or capacity to manage. David Hume argued, "A wise man proportions his belief to the evidence." Single incidents, while impactful, don't constitute comprehensive evidence of a person's character or ability. We apologize for your experience, and appreciate your feedback, which provides us an opportunity for reflection and growth. We hope you'll reconsider and continue supporting our cause. Kind regards, Adam Smith."
"Location: 7/10 Cleanliness: 7/10 Service: 8.5/10 Great Salvos Stores op shop. This op shop is located just at the outskirts of town, yet is close to the train station. There are next to no onsite parks but there are plenty of parks at the station, otherwise parking is not great. Once you go inside, you enter a small but well stocked op shop. Clothing prices were all over the place from $1.50ish (from half price red tags) to about $15 each item of clothing. Make sure to get the half price tagged clothes or you'd have to pay $5 onward for each clothing for at least 90%+ clothing. I cannot believe there were great puzzles brand new for $7 each, which were discounted by mistake to $5 each. I bought a Lee Child book published last year for my uncle for $5 which is still available brand new for $16 from BigW. Video games and a great range of board games are available too, which there was a AFL Board Game for $30 (around what you'd pay on eBay). Overall a good experience to go out to the op shops for Mother's Day"
"Took some items there and was told by one girl to leave some items by the door, and to put clothing items in the bins for sorting. Started to unload then another rude lady said to us you "You didn't even ask if I wanted it." Think she must have been the manager. I politely said to her that we were told to put the items beside the door. She then proceeded to speak rudely to the other staff member who told us where to place the items we donated. People like this really should not be managing a store. They really need to get some people skills. Next time we will take our items to another op shop. Salvos need to really screen people who deal with members of the public. To the other member of staff spoken rudely to, you should find somewhere where your volunteering is more appreciated."
"Friendly service. They girl working today is always so nice and helpful. I have added some of the creations made from products purchased from this store."
