Springwood Community Kindergarten

"This is not a babysitting club. The kids who attend learn skills that form a solid foundation for years to come. From my experience working with kids as an occupational therapist, I've seen that the quality of education taught at this kindy is exceptional. The children learn life skills, school readiness and experience a nurturing environment that is well structured. Children learn to play and use their imagination through fun activities such as art and craft (eg. make cardboard boxes into cars and then the yard is turned into a "road" with stop signs and all the kids drive their cars round! ) They learn to sit and listen to the teacher in storytime, preparing kids for seated learning in prep. Fun outdoor play equipment that develop core muscle groups. And the other parents are very supportive, it's a community feel. Attending this kindy myself as a child, I still have fond memories all these years later. I have also heard that working parents who need flexible drop off/ pick up times sometimes drop their kids at the daycare across the road and the daycare can take the kids over to the kindy."

"This Kindy is fabulous. It was everything I wanted in a kindy and so much more. My children loved the time they were there. The teachers developed wonderful connections with each child through individual focus, attention and engagement. The staff are caring, nurturing and have a wonderful energy. They are so warm and welcoming, they feel like family. I have loved how my kids have grown and developed through their incredible program. They were ready for school in so many ways and confidently started prep."

"We LOVE this kindy! my daughter has been there this year and we have just decided to do a second year because her birthday is right before the cut off so we want her to have another year of play based learning, emotional intelligence and resilience before heading off to prep. The teachers and support teachers have been so accommodating, so easy to talk to you get constant feedback and can be as involved or hands off as you like. They have so much experience when I talk to my friends with their kids at other kindys they are not getting anywhere near the same experience. Little things like how they help them transition into kindy and organise and name their feelings or bigger community engagement experiences. I looked at a lot of kindys before deciding on one and this one won HANDS DOWN. We have closer kindys to us that would be more convenient but the teachers at this kindy as well as 40 years worth of great equipment make this kindy a cut above."

Upon meeting with the teachers and having a tour of the centre I was thrown back to my own kindergarten experience and immediately felt like this was the fit for us. As we now have our third child going through, we couldn’t have been more pleased. The kindergarten has felt like a beautiful extension of home and the perfect preparation for starting school. We love that every child is known and valued. The calm routine and intentional learning through play, results in a happy connected class. My experience over the years has left me with confidence that my child is cared for physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially. I couldn’t recommend this kindergarten experience more highly."
