Southeast Auto Mechanical - Repco Authorised Car Service Beenleigh

"So my family has been going to this mechanic for probably 10+ years, I had an issue with my car and went in to have them check it out for me which btw was $90. No worries it is what it is there. They tell me my solinoid intake is having issues need a new one... that'll cost $990 to get the part in. So $990 + service fee etc. I came to pick my car up and think on it because I couldn't afford that out of my pocket and coincidentally for the first time ever my car wouldn't start, fortunately a staff member came and jump started my car for me so I could home, thanks for that. However, I can't help but be upset with the price they asked for the car part. My partner and I went home and bought it online for $80 brand new. We replaced it ourself and it was actually shockingly easy. The mechanic my family has been loyal to for literally years were about to charge me over a grand for something my partner and I could do in like 30 minutes for $80. I understand a profit has to be made in a business that's how a business works, but this up-price is offensive. I'm disappointed I have to go find a new mechanics just to get second opinions to see if I'm being ripped off by the mechanic who's be "looking after us" for years."

"Had a system error message saying limited transmission function. Shopped around and South East Auto contacted me about my query. Clearly explained the issue and they said they can service it. $600 later and I got a car that no longer drives and a message from South East Auto to take it to a transmission mechanic. Oh and they diagnosed the error code which I also managed to do with a $40 device myself. So I paid $600 to have a car in worse condition than it arrived and I'm actually further away from solving my original problem. Unfortunately another business happy to take money but provide no service. It might be just me, but when I take a car to a mechanic, I expect it to come out in better condition then when it entered. Merry Christmas."
