About Jane Gorry Park
Welcome to Jane Gorry Park, a beautiful establishment located in Augustine Heights, Christopher Street, 4. This park is not only a point of interest, but also an important part of the local community in Australia.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a measured and responsible budget, ensuring that our park remains accessible to all visitors. Despite major economic pressures, we have managed to keep our rate rise under inflation, making Jane Gorry Park an affordable and enjoyable destination for everyone.
In exciting news, the construction phase of the Commonwealth Hotel restoration project in the Nicholas Street Precinct has commenced after the successful completion of the demolition phase. This development will further enhance the appeal and vibrancy of the surrounding area, providing even more reasons to visit Jane Gorry Park.
We are also proud to have hosted The Push’s inaugural Queensland Music Careers Expo, which saw almost 150 young people gather at the Ipswich Civic Centre. This free event showcased the incredible talent and opportunities available in the music industry, inspiring and empowering the next generation of musicians.
For those interested in history and heritage, we will be hosting Galvanized – A Festival of Heritage. This festival celebrates Ipswich's rich heritage and will feature demonstrations of traditional trades, as well as a variety of events, workshops, talks, and tours. It is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of our region.
Exciting developments are also underway with the new Southern Resource Recovery Centre and Animal Management Facility. We invite you to be the first to preview the concept designs for these state-of-the-art facilities, which will greatly improve waste management and animal care in our community.
At Jane Gorry Park, we believe that progress starts with small steps. That's why we are proud to support Brighter Brassall, a group of residents dedicated to taking care of our environment. Together, we can make a difference and create a greener and more sustainable future.
As spring arrives, our park comes alive with the beauty of nature. With longer days and gardens in full bloom, it is the perfect time to visit Jane Gorry Park and Get Ready for the summer season ahead. Whether you want to enjoy a picnic, take a leisurely stroll, or simply relax in the peaceful surroundings, our park offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In response to popular demand, our Street Patio is being relocated to the Top of Town after a successful trial period outside Oikos Café on Limestone Street, Ipswich Central. This move will provide even more opportunities for visitors to enjoy outdoor dining and socializing in the heart of our vibrant city.
Lastly, we are excited to announce that applications are now open for community organizations to manage one of four council-owned community facilities. This is a rare opportunity for local groups to make a positive impact and contribute to the well-being of our community.
We invite you to explore Jane Gorry Park and experience the beauty, history, and community spirit that make it a truly special place. Come and discover why our park is a beloved institution in Australia.

Reviews of Jane Gorry Park
"Nice kids park with spacious greenery and car parking. There is no dog park off Christopher St. The dog park is off Rush Drive a walk away."
"The hut for hire was amazing value, wish we had similar in our area, credit to the local council. Park looks nice and clean."
"A medium sized and pleasant park with several playgrounds and a fenced off leash dog area. The walking path is suitable for push chairs and wheelchairs, with only part of this path being in close proximity to the road. The walk is lovely and goes past several small lakes and some bush land area, and is great for a quick 20 minutes of fresh air."
"Took my big boy Douglas today. He met a shy and timid Dalmatian and was so gentle with her. Owners and residents are so friendly and the park is in fairly good condition. Grass is a bit long, could use a mow."
"This is the best dog park for the Springfield area hands down. I frequent this park with my family all the time and know a lot of the regular dogs there. Everybody is super lovely and we've never had a problem. There's some serviceable agility equipment, a bench, a brand new chair on the other side now, there's always grass, and best of all a nice big tree in the centre for shade. The little dog park is fairly empty in comparison, but the big park is great. Plenty of room to run. The playground is right in view for the kids to muck about on too while you and the dog are in the park."
