Resource Work Cooperative

Welcome to Resource Work Cooperative, one of Australia's largest not-for-profit Worker Owned Cooperatives! Located at 30 Mcrobies Road in South Hobart, our establishment is not just a point of interest, but also a store where you can find a wide range of unique and affordable items.

Since our inception in 1993, Resource Work Cooperative has been dedicated to supporting the local community. With a team of 37 dedicated individuals, we not only provide employment opportunities but also assist numerous local community groups and deliver programs that benefit the broader community.

At Resource Work Cooperative, we pride ourselves on being a not-for-profit workers cooperative. Our members are also our workers, meaning they have a direct influence on the strategy, decision making, and overall direction of our cooperative. Through monthly General Meetings that operate on consensus decision making, we ensure that everyone's voice is heard and valued.

Inclusivity is at the core of our values, both in our shop and workplace. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and respected. We believe in the power of diversity and actively promote equality among our members and customers.

As an institution based in Australia, we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we operate. We pay our respects to the Muwinina people of the South East Aboriginal nation, the original owners of this land, and recognize that sovereignty was never ceded. We also extend our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community, the palawa people, and to all Elders, both past and present.
