In August 2021, we were thrilled to be awarded the contract to initiate a trial commuter ferry service between Bellerive and Hobart. The response has been nothing short of extraordinary, with over 110,000 passengers opting for our services during the first year of the trial. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to provide this essential service to the people of Hobart, and we take great pride in the success we have achieved thus far.

Throughout the trial period, we offered the service free of charge to passengers with a Greencard, bicycle, or e-scooter, as an incentive to try out this new mode of transportation and encourage the integration of active or public transport options. This initiative allowed us to quickly gain traction and build a loyal customer base. The Tasmanian Government, recognizing the potential of our service as a viable long-term public transport option, is currently evaluating its future.

In August 2022, we entered another phase of the trial, where fares were introduced for the service, equivalent to those of a Metro Tasmania bus fare. To ensure a seamless experience for our passengers, we have adopted the same Greencard system currently utilized on Metro buses. While travel with a bike or e-scooter is no longer free, we are pleased to inform you that there will be no additional charge for carrying these items on board.
