Reviews of Yugumbir State School
"My daughter is a school captain and has had the best time ever here. Yugumbir is so underrated but it is actually amazing. The principal, Mr Bishop is so kind and caring to each and every student. Yugumbir offers many activities like touch rugby, tackle rugby, chess, swimming, camps, netball and so much more. Doesn’t matter if your kid is sporty or academic, they will find their perfect place and success at Yugumbir."
"DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. THIS SCHOOL COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR CHILD. I went here for all of my primary school years and was bullied relentlessly for the first four. I was physically assaulted on multiple occasions by the same boy and after notifying teachers, councillors and even the principal they did nothing. It took getting the police involved for them to simply move him to a different class for the next year to get the bullying to finally stop. Not only are they incapable of taking proper action against bullying, their staff are ignorant to actual medical issues. When I was having a bronchitis induced Asthma attack, I was told by the office ladies to "just stop coughing" and would be yelled at every time I eventually did. The lack of oxygen led to a severe headache and the office ladies claiming that it was "just a panic attack" due to me crying from the pain. This school also fails to take proper measures to care for students mental wellbeing as well, one time in grade 4, I told a teacher that I wanted to kill myself and no further follow up occurred apart from some sympathies given by the teacher. This school normalises this abhorrent behaviour and willing ignorance for the children they claim to care about and I do not recommend sending your child here if you care for your children. No wonder so many kids who went here killed themselves."
"Since mid 2021 and the change in admin personnel, the school has gone from the best in Logan to the worst. So many families removing their children from this school. Save yourself the time and don't send your children here."
"definitely the best school i went to in primary, and i switched schools 4times. yugumbir actually taught me stuff in a manner i could actually ‘comprehend’ .. meaning i forget everything but i didnt at this school lol. best teacher is definitely mrs jackson me and my class would always sing “im sorry ms. jackson OO! I AM FOR REAALLL” whenever we mis behaved and she always forgave us and we moved on SLAYY. bts is cool lol bye"
"I used to go to this school, so call me biased, however, it's a great school. The teachers are great, there's a sense of community and the education is above average. If you want your child to have a good time in primary school, this is one of the many places to go. ~ Daniel K, Yugumbir Dux of 2015"
