About Vinnies Hamlyn Heights
Welcome to Vinnies Hamlyn Heights, located at 71 Vines Road in Hamlyn Heights, Australia. Our institution is not just a store, but also an establishment and a point of interest in the community. As a part of the St Vincent de Paul Society, we are proud to offer over 200 services that help people in need.
At Vinnies, we believe in supporting constitutional recognition of Australia's First Nations peoples. Our longstanding commitment to this cause reflects our mission to combat social injustice and provide assistance to those who require it. When families are struggling to cover the basics due to financial constraints, Vinnies is here to ease the pressure with practical support. By choosing to support us, you are giving Australians facing poverty another choice.
The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia boasts a dedicated team of more than 45,000 members and volunteers who work tirelessly to assist people in need. We are part of an international network that operates in 153 countries and has over 800,000 members. Our loyalty lies in serving our mission, vision, and values, which include welcoming and serving all without judgment, regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions.
At Vinnies Hamlyn Heights, we are committed to establishing relationships based on respect, trust, friendship, and perception. Our ultimate goal is to transform the causes of poverty and challenge the causes of human injustice. We also encourage spiritual growth, welcome innovation, and strive to give hope for the future.
We are proud to be a nominating organization for the Australian Government's School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI), emphasizing our commitment to education and digital inclusion. Furthermore, we are always looking for motivated community-minded individuals to get involved in our programs, events, and services nationwide.
The St Vincent de Paul Society actively and passionately speaks out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people we serve. We have countless success stories, such as Samantha, whose life has been turned around with a helping hand from Vinnies, ensuring a bright future for her and her children. We have also assisted individuals like J, who was injured at a part-time job after being retrenched from his full-time job at the age of 55. Additionally, we supported D, who found herself unemployed for the first time in her life just before her 64th birthday.
As a lay Catholic organization, we are dedicated to working towards a more just and compassionate society. We acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. Please note that this website may contain images of deceased members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, which are used with the utmost respect and appreciation.
The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia Inc. is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient. We are grateful for any support you can provide to help us continue our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
Together, let's create a better future for all Australians.

Reviews of Vinnies Hamlyn Heights
"Great place to visit for a bargain and helping people out @ the same time"
"Very, very lovely staff, thanks for your contribution to the Hamlyn Heights community. Plus huge range of diverse and well organised stuff."
"Found a few good things but still more expensive than other opp shops and have to search for a bargain. Big store, will take a while to get through it all"
"A fantastic op shop with friendly staff. Vinnies is by far the best value Op Shops you can get. Salvos is a lot more expensive and doesn't always have the range that Vinnies does."
