St Joseph’s Flexible Learning Centre
About the Business
Welcome to St Joseph’s Flexible Learning Centre, located in Grovedale, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to offer a supportive and inclusive school environment for 12-25 year olds who are seeking an alternative to mainstream education.
At St Joseph’s, we understand that every student is unique, which is why our learning program is designed specifically for you. You can learn at your own pace, gain job-ready skills, and access all the support you need to overcome life’s challenges. Our goal is to empower you with confidence and prepare you to pursue your dreams, whether that involves further education, training, or entering the workforce.
To ensure that you have a nourishing learning experience, we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. Additionally, our in-class wellbeing workers are available to help you achieve your learning goals and navigate any personal challenges you may face.
We believe in celebrating individuality, so you are encouraged to wear clothes that reflect your unique personality and style. We understand that not all schools are the same, and if you have had a negative school experience in the past, we want to assure you that St Joseph’s is different. We are committed to providing wrap-around support, personalized learning, and practical job skills development.
Our educational leader, Anthony Stockwell, has over 17 years of experience in various leadership roles and has dedicated his career to supporting young people. Under his guidance, we prioritize mutual respect, compassion, and liberation to help each student find their individual pathway to success.
It’s important to note that not all programs are available at each campus, so please get in touch with your preferred campus to discuss your journey and gather more information.
Our curriculum is designed to equip you with knowledge and skills for lifelong learning, social development, and active and informed social interaction. We offer a range of subjects including literacy, numeracy, humanities, and STEM.
If you are a student who has made significant progress through the Vocational Certificate of Applied Learning in 2022, you have the opportunity to complete your remaining units and graduate at the end of 2023. Our VCE VM program focuses on vocational and applied learning, tailored to your strengths and interests, while also developing the skills and capabilities needed for further education or employment.
For young parents, we provide a child-friendly classroom, an onsite nursery, and support from dedicated wellbeing workers, allowing you to continue your education while attending classes with or without your children.
Our flexible certificate is inclusive and designed to teach literacy, numeracy, personal development, and work-ready skills, preparing young people for the workplace. In addition to the core curriculum, we offer elective programs in music, woodwork, physical education, and art to explore interests and engage in new experiences.
Through our VET program, students have the opportunity to gain industry-recognized qualifications and skills for various workplaces. We also offer School-based apprenticeships or traineeships (SBAT), which provide paid on-the-job training while completing secondary school.
St Joseph’s is proud to offer a Victorian-first education model that combines online individualized learning with in-person wellbeing support. Our curriculum is delivered through a mix of virtual live classes and assigned tasks, allowing students to access the material at any time that suits them.
Beyond academics, St Joseph’s is more than just a school. It is a safe space where you can discover who you are and what you want to do in life. We believe in four guiding principles: respect, safe and legal, participation, and honesty, which provide a common ground for staff, young people, and families to work together.
For easy access to school documents, forms, agreements, and our school policies and annual reports, you can download them directly from our website.
If you believe St Joseph’s is a good fit for a young person you are working with, you can download and complete the referral form from our website and email it to the chosen campus.

Reviews
"Caring and kind teachers/ youth workers."
"This school is useless they find any excuses to send the kids home.i think thats wrong you are pretty much telling the kids that they can run away from their problems instead of facing them head on. The more you send them home the more they will not even bother going to school. You are here to help kids who struggle in school but yet i dont see anything being done to help the kids you just send them home"
"Great place for schooling. Never had an issue."
