We are passionate about preserving our coastline, and we invite you to join us in the initiative "take 3 for the sea." This involves leaving only footprints and taking three pieces of rubbish that you find. Together, we can help keep our environment unspoilt.
When it comes to recycling, most cans and plastic/glass bottles (excluding wine) can be recycled in NSW for a 10c refund. You can find recycling machines outside Woolworths on Terralong Street or the Kiama Golf Club on Oxley Avenue in Kiama Downs.
We kindly request that you leave only footprints and take only memories during your visit. Please ensure that you take all rubbish with you or utilize the bins provided.
To reduce single-use coffee cups, we encourage you to bring your own or join the local app Green Caffeen's "swap 'n' go" system. Look for the logo to participate in this eco-friendly initiative.
As you explore the region, please respect the natural environment by taking only photographs and leaving only footprints. Even small changes to an ecosystem can upset the fragile balance, so let's do our part in preserving the beauty of Kiama.
Don't forget to bring your own drink bottle and utilize the free water filling stations found along the Kiama Coast Walk and other stations around town. Stay hydrated while enjoying the stunning surroundings.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge that our local government area sits on the lands of the Dharawal people. We pay our respects to all Elders past, present, and emerging and acknowledge their deep and ongoing connection and cultural responsibilities to this land.
We hope you have a wonderful time exploring Kiama, and we are here to assist you with any information or assistance you may need during your visit.
