Reviews of Vinnies
"I love a good op shop but the prices here were so out of whack. Unwanted, second hand clothing that was bound for land fill anyway should not be these prices. Whoever sets the pricing has obviously been googling brands and setting only slightly lower than brand new. Quite disappointing as part of the joy of op shopping is finding a bargain. What ever happened to the one set price for all the same type of clothing? Looking through one rack of pants had random pricing from $8 to $125. Lots of Kmart products for more than the original price brand new. Can’t say I would bother coming back."
"It is the best designed op shop I have seen however considering the items are donated the prices are extremely high. You can get better furniture for free or much lower prices on Marketplace. $600 for a 3 seater, $400 for a side table ect. You can also get much cheaper clothes elsewhere also. I will not donate to this shop. The community op shop at Forest Lake has a much better philosophy. Low prices that people can afford"
"I found this store in my travels and enjoyed the counter staff friendly and helpful. However, I was monitored closely throughout my walk around, which I found unsettling. The layout of each department was well developed and stocked. I realise prices were on par with retailers in mainstream stores. However, I am happy to pay if reasonable, as in the end, they help others in the community. My photos reflect my purchase and some of the store."
"This is a pretty large opshop in an industrial sort of area. Everything is set out well and well priced.. you can find a good dealing on clothing, books and household items. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is I couldn't get a single glass which looked different to others.. it was only sold in a set."
"This is an incredible opshop housed in a large warehouse in the industrial area. There is a small shopping centre close by for those without transport and you can cross over into this area. The entry is hard to discover so they have a huge sign that says ENTRY. It has both high end collectibles and mainstream stock. Prices on collectibles are retail and not suitable for resale but there are reasonably priced treasures amoung these finds. Other stock is reasonable but I found some Kmart chip baskets that were the same price new at Kmart. It's not a rummaging opshop for creative's as the stock is too clean and well organised. The clothing has beautiful displays and a boutique shopping experience with an average men's section compared to the women's section. Seems to be busy with people coming and going so I'd expect a high turnover. Difficult for wheelchair access as the areas inside are sandwiched between shelves etc. with stock on high shelves out of reach if you don't have assistance. There was a couch I was interested in purchasing but a sign on it said there was no assistance to remove the couch out of the store, which means I would need to arrange or hire help just to get this couch out of the shop onto my ute. I've never encountered this before in any opshop. I live far from this opshop so being on my own I couldn't purchase the couch. If you have auditory or sensory issues like autism the music is too loud and debilitating which made it unenjoyable so I couldn't stay long. Definitely a shop to check out for high quality."
