Welcome to ExitLeft Productions, located at 46 Murray Street in Hobart, Australia. We are an establishment that specializes in providing outstanding performing arts training for children and teens. Whether your child loves singing, acting, or both, we offer a fun and educational environment where they can develop their skills and talents.

At ExitLeft, we understand the importance of balancing the joy of performing with the need for real skill development. Our programs focus on teaching core skills such as singing, acting, and playing, while also fostering creativity, teamwork, and communication skills. By starting with the basics of good technique and style, we ensure that our students become amazing performers who stand out from the crowd.

Our performance programs are designed for students from Grade 3 to Grade 12 and cater to their individual passions. From participating in fabulous musicals to receiving bonus singing lessons and performing in concerts and public events, our students have numerous opportunities to showcase their talents.

Unlike many other institutions, we do not require auditions for our core singing and acting classes. We believe that as long as a student has the passion, we can help them grow their skills. As young adults, our students consistently secure lead roles in musicals and plays and receive offers to join prestigious national performing arts courses for those who wish to pursue a career in the performing arts.

While some students may audition internally for specific roles in shows, there is no audition required to be involved in our programs. We believe that if a child loves singing, they need to learn to tell stories through acting, and if a child loves acting, they must be able to use their voice, which is best developed through singing. Ultimately, kids who want to perform simply love to act and sing!

At ExitLeft, we go above and beyond to support and encourage our students to shine. Our dedicated staff provides sheet music and practice recordings, arranges extra rehearsals and accompaniment for auditions, exams, and performances, and ensures that our students have the opportunity to participate in musicals, plays, concerts, and events throughout the year.

Research consistently shows that exposure to music stimulates brain growth and develops creative thinking, social skills, and communication skills. A recent study by Macquarie University revealed that children exposed to at least a year and a half of private music lessons have an edge in detecting patterns in the world around them, as musical training enhances their brains' ability for statistical learning. Children with musical training demonstrated better melody, rhythm, and frequency discrimination, and were faster at detecting patterns in auditory and visual tasks.

We invite you to experience our programs firsthand by enrolling your child and letting them participate in our classes. While we do not offer free trials, if you find that we aren't the right fit for your child after the first or second lesson, simply let us know via email, and we will arrange to cancel the remainder of their enrolment and adjust your account accordingly.

For shy students, our downstairs waiting area provides a sense of reassurance, as parents are close by during the first week or two.
