"I was in a 4-share with an ensuite, and this made for a great experience. Lots of places to eat and museums nearby. Short walk down to the harbour for sunrise and tours. Keep in mind it is a youth hostel and it is in the middle of the city, so can be noisy. There's a clock tower right across the road that regularly rings."
"Although we didn’t stay here, we utilised the bag drop-off facilities and found the staff to be so incredibly helpful and welcoming. Everything was secure and safely tucked away where we left it. Also, important to note, if it hadn’t been for the lovely lady at the front counter who gave me a map of places to visit, I would have never had the chance to see a platypus in the wild! Thank-you for the rivulet tips!"
"Great place to stay. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Great location and hearing the clock tower at night is very relaxing. When I checked in, my heater wasn't working. As soon as I let the staff know, they came to check it, reported it to maintenance and offered me thick blankets for during the night. The heater was fixed the next day, and worked really well for the duration of my stay. Only piece of feedback would be that as soon as you check in, close the window in your room!! Mine was open when I arrived and made my room freezing cold."
"Compared to other YHA properties in Australia and NZ i found this one is not up to the mark. No lockers in shared spaces. Also room size was small and design of room is also not convenient. Also quite a no of steps to staircase for upper floor. If you got heavy bags then be ready for discomfort to move up and come down. The passage are also some what tight. One important facility of storing your bag at quite reasonable price is a highlight for those not staying at the hostel. Locations wise it’s very convenient and all tours pickup and drop off is just around the corner."
"I stayed in Hobart central and my room was good clean enough and we were very with room and location but one thing was awful, They messed up reception, super dirty and unorganised. Please note kitchen hygiene was pathetic and they have only 1 set of 4 kitchen hot plate and two of them wasn’t working. Kitchen space was ridiculously small can’t even fit 8 people at once.. sorry but I have stayed in so many YHA before and this is only one put me down.. they need to work on the size of the kitchen with having some extra heat plate properly working and clean reception area. Thanks"
