Welcome to Koonawarra Community Preschool, part of the Big Fat Smile institution located in the beautiful region of Illawarra, Australia. As a not-for-profit organization, our goal is to enrich the lives and minds of children and families in our communities.

In addition to our preschool program, we also offer an exciting and engaging school holiday program called Fun Club. Children who have experienced our Fun Club rave about the fun activities and the inspiration they receive. From drama and cooking to arts and crafts, photography, and dance, our Fun Club curriculum is designed to leave children happy, inspired, and maybe a little exhausted at the end of each day.

We are always looking for individuals who share our vision and values to join our organization. Whether you are interested in becoming a trainee, director, or part of our head office team, inclusion agency, or more, there are opportunities for everyone at Big Fat Smile.

Enrollment inquiries for 2022 are now open, and we invite you to download our enrollment information pack by clicking on the link below. With 26 community preschools across NSW, we offer term care or long daycare for children aged 0-5 years.

If your child is enrolled in one of our community preschools, you may be eligible for the Australian Government's Child Care Subsidy. More details can be found on page 21 of our Parent Handbook.

In addition to preschool and Fun Club, we also have 15 Fun Clubs providing before and after school care, as well as school holiday care for children aged 5-12 years. Our Fun Clubs offer a creative curriculum with activities ranging from drama to cooking, arts and crafts, photography, and dance. Rest assured, your child will have a blast and come home with a smile on their face.

We understand that the early years are crucial for a child's development, and that's why we offer programs through Include Me to ensure they are given the best possible start in life. From practical support to community events, information, and current research, we are here to guide you every step of the way.

We believe in the wonders of the great outdoors, and all of our services offer outdoor areas for play-based learning. We also understand the importance of nutrition, and our cooks and staff are dedicated to expanding your child's palate while ensuring they receive all the necessary nutrients for their growth and development.

At Koonawarra Community Preschool, we support and engage in local Transition to School programs because we believe that preparation for big school starts from the very first day.

We know that your time is valuable, so in all Early Learning and Care services, we provide nappies and wipes for your convenience.
