Cringila Hills Playground 21 Lackawanna Street, Cringila, New South Wales 2502
About the Business
Welcome to Cringila Hills Playground, located at 21 Lackawanna Street in Cringila, Australia. Our establishment is an exciting point of interest that offers a wide range of recreational activities for visitors of all ages and abilities.
At Cringila Hills, we are committed to transforming the area into a new and vibrant recreation park. In March 2020, our Cringila Hills Master Plan was endorsed by the council. This comprehensive plan, available for download on our website, outlines the exciting projects we have in store for the hills of Cringila.
One of our notable projects is the development of mountain bike trails. We have opened a series of trails that cater to riders of different skill levels, from beginners to advanced. With almost 12km of mountain bike trails and approximately 3.4km of shared-use and walking trails, Cringila Hills Recreation Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
To ensure the longevity of our trails, we kindly ask the community to use only asphalt or concrete paths during or immediately after wet weather. This helps reduce damage and ensures that the trails remain accessible for everyone. Please adhere to any park signage and check our Cringila Hills Mountain Bike Park page for the latest trail status.
In addition to the mountain bike trails, we have also built a brand new playground at Cringila Hills Recreation Park. This inclusive playground is designed to accommodate children of all ages and abilities. One of the highlights of this playground is the giant book, which tells the local Aboriginal Dreaming story of Gudgad the Greedy Frog.
To make visiting our park more convenient, we have constructed a new asphalt car park. This car park serves visitors of the children's playground, mountain bike and walking trails, as well as those utilizing the pump track and mountain bike skills playground.
Our pump track is approximately 225m long and features various obstacles suitable for bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, and roller blades. We encourage riders to exercise caution and follow track rules when using the pump track, especially in wet conditions.
For beginners and less-confident riders, we have created a dedicated zone to learn bike handling skills before venturing onto the main mountain bike trails. This space is perfect for improving balance, cornering, jumping, and navigating small drops.
To protect the natural environment, we have implemented a Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) that includes weed removal, establishment of asset protection zones, and planting. This ensures the preservation of native plants and habitat, while minimizing the impact of development and works in the area.
To maintain the integrity of the reserve, we have installed barriers at various locations to prevent illegal vehicle entry. Council will continue to monitor and address any instances of illegal vehicle access.
To make navigation easier, we are working on installing new wayfinding signage that will guide people from Cringila train station to the recreational hub in Lackawanna Street.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed their ideas and opinions, helping us shape the master plan for this park. We value community input and strive to create a space that caters to the needs and desires of our visitors.
We invite you to visit Cringila Hills Playground, located at 21 Lackawanna Street, Cringila. Our operating hours are from 8:30am to 5:00pm, and our office is situated at 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong, NSW, Australia.
Lastly, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of Dharawal Country, both past and present, and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Come and experience the beauty and excitement of Cringila Hills Playground β a destination where nature, adventure, and community converge.

Reviews
"Walked around here, and I loved the book displayed and how it had Braille so blind children are able to read about what the park has. The park area has been recently upgraded, and it looks great."
"On last visit, the punp track was was in impeccable condition. The area if very family friendly and little scooters could easily handle the pump track as well. The skills and jump tack is also regularly maintained. However the berms were a little ridden in and the crests needed some touch up. There's also a pretty big wall ride which most riders can hit. The trails though need some work. There was drainage issues with some jumps which caused some erosion. However I highly recommend it to any skill level as there's something for everyone at every level. Will definitely be going back once some of the trails open up again."
"Beautiful park! Take my son here every week, the atmosphere is really nice! Is a little hidden away so it doesn't get overwhelming busy which means he is able to play freely. Plenty of space and great bike track area for older kids."
"Great park/play ground, with good accessibility for family's with special needs and various abilities. Great pump track, and bike tracks for various age groups and skills."
"Beautiful park and the story behind it is realy nice! Using malsh is not a good idea to be used next to the water as it made it very dirty and stoped the water under the bridge which end up having mosies"
