About Vinnies Hamilton
Welcome to Vinnies Hamilton, located on Beaumont Street in Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our store is part of the renowned St Vincent de Paul Society, which offers over 200 services to help those in need. We are dedicated to supporting constitutional recognition of Australia’s First Nations peoples, standing alongside them in their journey towards justice and equality.
At Vinnies Hamilton, we understand the struggles faced by families who don't have enough money to cover their basic needs. That's why we provide practical support to ease the pressure and give Australians facing poverty another choice. With a network of more than 45,000 members and volunteers across Australia, the St Vincent de Paul Society works tirelessly to assist people in need and combat social injustice. We are proud to be part of an international organization operating in 153 countries, with over 800,000 members worldwide.
Our institution is built on a foundation of loyalty, service, and respect. By promoting and adhering to our mission, vision, and values, we aim to establish relationships based on respect, trust, friendship, and perception. Our ultimate goal is to transform the causes of poverty and challenge the causes of human injustice, offering hope for a better future.
Vinnies Hamilton is also a nominating organization for the Australian Government's School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI), demonstrating our commitment to supporting education and digital inclusion. We are always seeking motivated individuals who share our community-minded spirit to get involved in our programs, events, and services nationwide. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Stories of transformation are at the heart of what we do. Samantha, with the help of a hand up from Vinnies, has turned her life around, paving the way for a bright future for herself and her children. J, injured and retrenched at 55, found support in our services, while D, unemployed for the first time at 64, discovered a lifeline through Vinnies.
As a lay Catholic organization, we strive to create a more just and compassionate society. We acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. This website may include images of deceased members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, which are used with the utmost respect and appreciation.

Reviews of Vinnies Hamilton
"This op shop is the worst on this street for being overpriced - an issue for lots of op shops lately it seems. They, like many others, complain about not being able to take stock because they have too many donations yet price things ridiculously. In what world is a tree of life top that cost $15 new, worth $30 after being donated. Not to mention the amount of Anko in the store that has also been priced higher than retail. Volunteer staff are very out of touch with what things and when you try and negotiate with them by informing them of retail price they are not flexible or willing to listen. Cut the prices and maybe you’ll see things actually leave the shelves because the same stock has been sitting there for 6 months."
"Staff always friendly and helpful. If you ask."
"Many varieties, friendly staffs."
"Goodness me, Vinnies in Hamilton have a well set out store, their prices are quite over the top, eg a thai silk scarf with pulls $15, nothing under $10 in adult clothing. They are not currently accepting donations....maybe if prices were more reasonable turnover would be quicker."
"Over priced donated goods. Staff Google donated items in front of customers. Would never donate or buy from this organisation. Appalling retail service. I have never in my life seen Vinnie's staff Google items before in my life and I know from talking to other people they have had the same experience. $35 for a rotten pair of leather shoes."
